I'm not sure if natural resins (plant-derived) are ever used with CF.
I assume it is an epoxy resin (Thermosetting polymer) which is a plastic (synthetic resin)
Fair point though I insist upon the "slight" difference in structure, strength, quality and price.

The star of the show for me.

Meh, lipstick and some Alfa Romeo vibes on the (now even fatter) pig.
I admit it wasn't love at first sight for me ......but i've become quite besotted with it over the past couple of days.

I know you're not a fan of VAG Gianclaudio, but this is a very special vehicle nonetheless. The only great car made in France today is undoubtedly the finest car in the world.

Oh you've gone and f%$cking ruined it for me now. Twit.
Lol, although Ettore Bugatti was Italian, and Molsheim was part of Germany when he started making his cars there, for me it makes perfect sense that Bugatti is French - it is an uncompromising fusion of high art and engineering ...with impeccable taste and good manners ;) Things I associate with the best of French culture.

Well....It kind of throws me off balance when you put it that way...You see, for me , as well as most other people out there...The common definition of a "French" car is the following :poop:

Lol, yes that is unfortunate.

I know all the stereotypes but I prefer to think of great French industrialists, scientists, engineers, and artists who have contributed some of the finest examples of their type to history.

There was a time (1920s/1930s) when some of the most amazing cars in the world were French.

...with impeccable taste and good manners ;)

I drive a BMW - taste and good manners completely elude me - it's a license to be a first class twat, don't you know? ;)

On a serious note the zenith of French innovation in automobilia is long past and there's nothing French about a present-day Bugatti other than factory GPS coordinates and the snooty bitch in reception.

I know what you're saying is all true. I'm a romantic at heart Martin, I like to buy into the fantasy of the present-day Bugatti.

France was the centre of the art world when Ettore was building his masterpieces in Molsheim.

I have always had a great love for the sculptures of Ettore's brother Rembrandt Bugatti, and the eccentric and fantastic furniture of his father, Carlo Bugatti. These are the subconscious associations I make when I consider the Bugatti brand name ......they were an extremely creative and brilliant family.

You're far too arty, informed and civilised for me my friend.

Lol, I'm sure that's not true Martin.

The thing is, although the present-day Bugatti has no direct connection to the Bugatti family, history, or culture, these things do serve as the spark of inspiration for the values of company.

- SPOILER -
Bugatti Chiron vs the world’s greatest hypercars
The Veyron’s successor is here, but how does it stack up against existing motoring royalty?

After months of anticipation the 261mph, 1479bhp Bugatti Chiron has at last been unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. And by the hammer of Thor, it’s fast.

Fitted with an 8.0-litre W16 and capable of delivering 1,180lb ft of torque, the new model is a belting upgrade in the numbers department compared to its predecessor, the Veyron.

When Bugatti removes the limiter for its maximum speed record attempt, the Chiron is expected to surpass the 270mph barrier which only a handful of road-going vehicles can claim to get close to.

And with the throttle pressed fully to the floor, it will drain the 22 gallon fuel tank in around nine minutes. In Top Gear maths, that means it could probably burn through £100 of super unleaded faster than you can literally burn that amount of money in cash.

It’s not an experiment we recommend you try at home.

Be that as it may, the Chiron doesn’t just have its ancestor to contend with. Bugatti says the average buyer will already own “64 cars, three jets, three helicopters, and a yacht”, which puts the financial threshold for potential customers, um, rather high.

And if the well-to-do of this world are after top-end performance, then there are other hypercars to consider. The LaFerrari, the McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 spring to mind.

And then there’s the Koenigsegg Regera, unveiled on Tuesday with a scarcely believable 1,500bhp. Oh, and a little thing called the Venom GT, which for 2016, now comes with 1,451bhp.

So how do the stats compare? We’ve cobbled together these recent hypercar wonders - LaFerrari, P1, 918, Bugatti Veyron SS, Venom GT and that Regera - to see how they stack up against the new Chiron…
