X5 (G05) [Official] BMW X5 (G05)

The BMW G05 is the fourth generation of the BMW X5. Model codes: G05, G18 (LWB), and F95 (X5 M). Predecessor: BMW X5 (F15). Successor: X5 (G65) [expected] Production: August 2018 -
The LCI looks good but I still like the pre LCI slightly more. The X5 is one of the best looking SUV's in its segment.

This car deserves a final send off with a special version of the X5 M to shut the mouths of all these new boys; Urus Performante, 707, Turbo GT and Purosangue.

BMW's SAVs and M have what it takes to humiliate them all.

It'll take a lot to humiliate the Turbo GT and the Purosangue.

Even if the X5M CS (or whatever) is faster, it'll never compare to an atmospheric V12.

Not in some ways, but it has every possibility to destroy it on and off a track. And that would be the aim. It would likely also drive far superior considering what BMW does with the CS models.

I'll just keep the X5 Le Mans in mind thank you very much.

I'm not fortunate enough to be able to drive many of these super cars.
But I've not seen a single person say that any BMW drives better than any Ferrari, or indeed any Porsche.

If anything whilst dynamically the M5 CS and M4 CS are said to be dynamically excellent, they're always mentioned as being devoid of any feel or feedback. Accurate and sharp, yes, but not communicative.

In any case, I don't think anyone who has the money for a Purosangue, will be cross-shopping it with an X5M. And once again, no matter how quick BMW make it, it still doesn't have an atmospheric V12.

But what do I know anyway.

BMW shines in making normal cars special. Ferrari and Porsche (to a lesser extend) make special cars per default.
An SUV is a normal car with 4 doors, BMW has decades and decades of experience with those cars. They do them like no other, and this is where my conclusion comes from.

They have all it takes.

I never said that. I am drawing completely different conclusions. BMW is able to one up the Ferrari for less than half the price and no Purosangue owner will care in ther slightest nor will they desire a BMW.

'Destroy' is a strong word in this case. If BMW were to build a track focussed X5M, it would likely be within seconds and/or in some cases, marginally ahead of the Turbo GT bearing in mind there isn't enough data to suggest the Ferrari is quick around a track. A tenth here or there does not equate to destruction my friend.

Agreed. And I think you would also agree that if any one manufacturer were capable of matching that concept simply to exploit what such cars are capable of, it would be Porsche's GT department.

Agreed to some extent though IMO, I don't think one needs tons of feel and feedback to be quick around a track. But yes, we are talking about 2.2 tonne plus SUV's and it would be very beneficial to have decent feedback to asses the limits for the quickest lap times possible.

And like yourself, I don't have the luxury to have driven any of the aforementioned cars but some have and the folks over at evo UK would disagree in regards to the M5 CS's feel and feedback.
