X5 [Official] BMW X5 (G05)

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.
Must agree that the colour palette is rather limited. No silver or reds, no bright colours. However in all trims it still looks rather good. You don’t need M sport to have a good looking X5.

The UK configuration for the G05 is live!

I have never seen a BMW this well equipped. You hardly have to tick any options. 2 axle air suspension, power folding mirrors, electric/heated/vented comfort seats, Parking assist, 360 degree...
This comes with what option pack ?

X5 in different specifications.

They all look good. Even with the smallest possible rims, and even with the black plastic bumpers and wheelarches. Not an ugly bumper to be found either.

So howmany versions are they is it three ?

M Pack
Exclsuive and ?

Just two I think, three if you consider the hybrid a separate model. 'Regular' and 'M-pack'

And I now see the 'xOffroad Package', which has small visual cues on the exterior.
xOffroad has 4 drive settings: xSand, xRocks, xGravel, xSnow. These settings are available from two switches below the iDrive knob:

It also comes with a mechanical diff, and it sounds like the shizzle to have on your X5. The pack also is expensive to say the least.

The user interface for BMW Head-Up Display and BMW Live Cockpit Professional are also updated with xOffroad specific graphics.

All of that is standard in the UK. The only packs not ticket are off road and heat.

Clearly BMW UK wants this car to be as feature rich ad possible. I support the decision because we are now in an era where options make the car rather than whether its an old or new model.

Press cars are so packed with features that an 540i xDrive with optional adaptive dampers, adaptive drive, integral rear steering and comfort seats is a completely different car from 520d models ready for immediate delivery at local dealers.

Why spend millions on R&D for options that many cusromerw don't bother ticking? Just include more as standard.

Although the increase in standard kit in the UK bumps up the price a bit, the car is still a bargain compared with Cayenne and Range Rover models that are at least 20-40% more expensive with like for like equipment.

From what I hear, the xOffroad Package comes with the very same electronically controlled rear axle diff that the M-Sport package equipped X5's have.;)

Not according to the official German (and Dutch) BMW website:

Die Ausstattungsumfänge des xOffroad Pakets:

• Vier Offroad-Modi: xSand, xRocks, xGravel, xSnow, anwählbar über Bedienschalter an der Mittelkonsole
Mechanische Differentialsperre
• xOffroad spezifische Applikation der xDrive sowie der Steptronic Sport Getriebe Einstellungen
• Unterfahrschutz vorn und hinten in Edelstahloptik
• Spezifische Benutzeroberfläche in BMW Head-Up Display und BMW Live Cockpit Professional
