X5 [Official] BMW X5 (F15)

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.
Such a beautiful machine. I feel lost. Maybe going the 4er coupe route will be the biggest mistake of the 'X-x mans' life:(

4er and a X1 in the garage sounded like the perfect garage for me. Now in doubt I am:unsure:

There's just one problem with this. No one ever views the interior of a car from such a holistic perspective (unless it's convertible with the top down). As an occupant, you don't ever get the 'full picture' to really see and understand the flow of lines and shapes and materials. In the image above you can definitely see the beauty and style, but as a passenger you don't get to appreciate the entire thing in a single view.

...and in saying that, I think that's why Audi receives such praise for its interiors. Their lines and shapes a very simple and easy to grasp/behold, but their focus on details - which are the things an occupant can definitely focus on as a whole - is where they impress. The same is absolutely true for the new S-class. The overall design is rather simple and clean, but the attention to detail is stunning. Another example.. the Panamera's interior. Absolutely no imagination or 'style/flare' in the overall design and layout, but the details is what catch your eye.

Not saying BMW's approach is the wrong way, ...I definitely appreciate the style and vision that their designers are going for. But inevitably that vision has to go through the engineers who are given the task of maximizing parts sharing, the production reality ends up being watered down, and the focus on detail isn't completely there.
There have however been two exceptions in my opinion. The Z4's interior is fantastic...and the 6er...oh how stylish it is!!

Here is an example of beautiful front bumper and kidney-grill design implementation vs. the F15 X5.
Although there are design similarities in bumper, but the CAT Outdoor looks so much better. The grill makes big difference.

Oooooooh...look at the interior. BMW's best now?

That looks far better in an IRL shot than I'd initially given it credit for. And that's just the exterior...

The interior is just diabolically good. Mmm, I love those Mocha brown seats. Always wanted a car with that hue of cow. I'm even more fond of BMWs all of a sudden. Wonder why?

Same here, which has me wonder why is it the same with all recent BMWs. Most look crap in studio and press photos, but then those IRL start coming out and the cars look great!

If the car had resembled more the sketches it would have looked way better IMO.
