Concept Official: BMW Vision ConnectedDrive Concept for Geneva

Future car concepts, design studies, upcoming tech, and what may come next
What's with all these Concepts that never make it production BMW??:t-crazy2:

Last time I lost interest was when the CS Concept never made it into production. Come'on BMW, we've had CS Concept, M1 Hommage, VED concept and now this?? :t-banghea:t-banghea
CS was planned for production but cancelled due to the enconomy melting down.

As the title suggests, M1 Hommage was just a hommage to the legendary M1. It hardly had the purpose of a classical concept (visionary, outlook at upcoming tech of design, etc) but was merely a M1 as it would look today.

VED is currently under development and will be launched 2013 or 2014.

Best regards,
south

I like it too. As a concept ofc, not as a production car. It does dissapoint me a bit though, isn't as adventurous as I had imagined, this reminds me of some of my own sketches..

the side view is awesome. it reminds me a lot on the california spyder from designworks usa
those tron elements are a little cheese, but well its a concept

It's actually pretty sick looking in motion. Will do well in sci-fi movies.

This video actually shows the car, and not just some moving LED lights. It's quite sexy actually :D

BTW, the doors are Z1 style. Hope we see more on that soon!

This picture sums up my sentiments.

When you look at the side profile, you can almost see why it should be altered for production. The nose would probably not pass the european safety tests, and the rear wheels are far too back for a production car. I do not see any future BMW with the kidneys larger than the frontlights.

Side profile is absolutely sick, unlike anything I remember. Look how playful BMW with those body panels, amazing reflections and sculpturing. Plus, Rims are also amazing although simple.

I just realized, that front has some Alfa in it.

Quick google search: Yes I do remember her, she is the one behind the Z4, pretty chick :D

As for those Rims, Scott remember, Size matter.

Julliane blasi the Z4 designer.
one cuestion, the size of this less than Z4 or more?, more like Z2 size to me

What I dislike most is the fact that the headlights are sort of cut off, and don't flow into the side panel at all. I really hope that is not a preview of future BMW design!!

I love that cut off..
I actually love the front..its very square short and agressive..
:usa7uh:

Rest is just blaaah..
Rear is ugly..

Maybe this is a gd sign though..they allready make great looking rear ends..maybe its time to take on the task of fronts:)

Oh man , its more ugly than one of my piles :D What a waste of time designing that thing.

this post was a waste of time

Whatever! give me one good reason why BMW made this.
Give us something we can actually buy in a near future. BMW are focusing on the wrong things, no one is going to be impressed by this unless you are hardcore BMW fan..

every show-car is actually a way to advertise a brand(no its not healing cancer) - nothing more nothing less. its show-casting how the layered design language can look on a traditional car (without the fancy stuff of the other vision concept).

the car is already polarizing and creating a design discussion, well done bmw :eusa_clap
