In Europe? It is doing horrible in US < 350 in Q1. I don't know if they sell i3 in China, I couldn't find any nums.

Yes, i3 obviously is not meant for any other part of the world.

We'll see in a year how things are selling, but for now BMW has an EV line-up. I am not even pretending to say it's the best or special or whatever, just concluding that BMW has an EV line-up. Which apparently is hitting people the wrong way.

I was referring to your comment about the EQS. Even though it's an ugly car, it's nowhere near as bad as the I4. BMW's EV line-up in general is consisted of mole rats.

And who in their right mind buys the i3? It has been on the market for how many years now? How much has it sold during those years?
The answer is not a lot, especially compared to other EVs similar age and price.

Your false hot takes are very clear: let's go troll the BMW section because my beloved EQS is hated by near everybody except a few hardcore fanboys.

I for one wouldn't even want to be inside an EQS if I was dead. Yet here I am happy to wait and experience the i4. Fun, huh?

Maybe but as long as Tesla is not offering a single motor version at 40k the comparison you mention is just not there.

UK Model Y has no price yet, but both versions listed are dual motor. The Model III starts at the equivalent of €47,000 here with the single motor, I can't see the Model Y being equivalent to £35,000 here... though it is likely to be quite a bit cheaper than the £59,000 iX3.

Base Model 3 in Germany is 37 000 Euro.

I must say:

In light of the frenzy and ruckus that the presentation of the production M-B EQS has brought to our forums, I can actually appreciate the relatively unagitated, conservative and digestible vibe that the i4 exudes.

Is that a MINI GP - EV convertible there? all the others are electric............

I don't think so. It's the LCI with ICE as far as i understand.

I'm actually in the Audi camp, but whatever. This isn't trolling. Like you I express my opinion and taste as you know is subjective. But even I have to admit that EQS is better than this in every factual way lol.

Funny you say i3 isn't meant for any other part of the world, yet it's doing horribly sales wise in EVERY part for the world.

I don't know about people - but what I find idiotic is execs, pretending number of models being offered as some measure of success. When in reality, it will probably indicate the opposite - when you have 10 EVs and not one of them is in the top 10.

Really, don't like strip clubs?

That is a pretty bold blanket statement. While I don't know the final specs, from what has been released so far, i4 should handedly out accelerate EQS.

Price? Weight? Sporty driving? I very, very, very much doubt it. Your "every factual way" is nonsense. Just like the downplay of selling 200k expensive weird electric city cars.

Yeah I agree, and I have this feeling this obsession with expanding model ranges of identical cars in a different dresses is about to end.

Really, don't like strip clubs?

That's an American thing. We in Amsterdam skip that part and go straight to the red light district
Which in car terms is renting a Lambo.

Looking at Volkswagen's ID lineup, I'd say we're just getting started with that trend on the EV side.

True. Yeah, with the skateboard principle it'll be even easier to make 10 different cars that technically are identical or near to that.
So what had become MB's, Audi's and BMW's area of expertise in the ICE era (flexible platforms able to spawn many models), will be commonplace and easy to replicate for even the most mundane brand in the EV era. So that's another notable'1-up' gone for the Germans vs the competition.

There will be no excuse for not making 2 door coupes.

As it is today, the exuse is that most do not sell well and have been discarded, the problem of taste or fashion and consumer preferences in terms of body types will remain, I estimate that those that work today will continue to work

I agree, but being easier and less costly (BEV platform), is the whole point why despite low sales it should then be possible to do.
