Valkyrie [Official] Aston Martin - From AM-RB 001 to Valkyrie

The Aston Martin Valkyrie (also known by its code-names as AM-RB 001 and Nebula) is a limited production hybrid sports car collaboratively built by Aston Martin, Red Bull Racing Advanced Technologies, and several other parties. Production: November 2021 – December 2024.
I found this to be the best for sound.

He got his rear left on the kerb. Add 1100+hp to that and there's no other outcome. I've seen Ferrari drivers do worse on London bridges with half the power.

Seems like the driver is pushing really hard. Maybe they are FINALLY gonna post some lap records?

:ROFLMAO:

Anyway... I have been looking at what's up with the cars and it doesn't paint a pretty picture. The cars started being "delivered" at the end of January (and there is one video of one customer car being driven on public roads), but then soon after they got "recalled" (information provided by Valkyrie customers through social media). I say "recalled" because what apparently happened to most of the cars is that they got delivered to dealerships (not actually customers) and then after the "recall" they just kept sitting there. There is a video of the Oslo Valkyrie from very early February and then there is a video of the same car from just a few weeks ago, still sitting at the dealership. Not sure if that's the case for all the "delivered" cars, but one thing that seems pretty clear is that so far no cars have actually reached customers.

The reason for the delay - again, according to social media posts from Valkyrie customers - seems to be continuing electrical problems and oil leaks. In short, the cars don't really work and were delivered unfinished. I can't remember the last time a car from a major manufacturer got "delivered" without actually being finished, but that's Aston Martin for you - setting new clown standards everywhere they go. This is also the reason why there haven't been any reviews yet.

Aston are claiming that they are having problems assembling the cars - and that might very well be true - but if the problems had to do with just the assembly, for one, you would expect those problems to be solved during pre-production (after all, that's why you do a pre-production run - to make sure all the production processes and methods are working well); and for two, you wouldn't expect assembly problems to last 6 months (yes, it's been 6 months from the alleged start of production now). So what I am pretty sure is happening is that the cars have a design flaw that went unnoticed/ignored and now they are trying to solve it - all while pretending the cars are being delivered.

It's worth noting that this is just me piecing together what I can from the very few pieces of information there are, so take what I say with a grain of salt. What's for sure, however, is that despite 6 months of the cars supposedly being in production, so far there have been no further videos of the cars being driven in public, and no videos of any new cars arriving to dealerships since February. There has been no word from Aston Martin on the situation either apart from mentioning that they have problems putting the car together (which is most likely a half-truth at that).

Mostly bla bla bla, but there is some relevant info:
- weight is said to be "a little over 1400kg" - this might be the first direct confirmation that the car indeed is 1400kg(+)
- the noise level at idle is 98dB
- the price of one engine is €500k

No mention of when the car might be ready.

If I don’t remember wrong this car was going to weigh just above 1000 kg and have above 1000 ps. So now the weight has increased with 40%?? How is that possible?

1. The 1000kg was just a target - one that was always quite unrealistic. I think the lightest a car of this type (ie. with 1000PS+, hybrid) could be, would be around 1250kg
2. The 1000kg was dry weight, the 1400kg could be kerb (although, much more scarily it could also be dry - I refuse to believe that, though).
3. Budget cuts have made the car heavier
4. Aston Martin have a terrible record of making their cars lightweight

We can piece together a lot of info from these marketing talks from dealers.

Still find it funny how Hyper Trinity went smother 9 years back. While this AMG and Aston duo are struggling to reach customers.

conclusion:

- the budget cuts should never have happened and Stroll should've just let Aston Martin/Red Bull go ham on the car

All very disappointing so far ... It would have been less of an effort to get an existing GT3 car street legal .... that would have been much more reliable ... and CHEAPER!

I just had a look at Aston’s homepage. There is a link «See full specifications», and of course the link does not work…. Very profesional, Aston Martin!!
At least they reveal the power; 1140 bhp.
But should they not reveal more data for a car that already has started deliveries to customers….?

I put the video on, change the page and continue, suddenly it sounded like a good formula 1 from before.

When they start selling these Astons, I think there are two or three, if not more supercars from them, it's like an offensive against McLaren, right?

I don’t think I’ve ever heard a better sounding road car. It might be unreliable as some say but when it does work the owners will be extremely happy and forget all its faults. The 10 mins on the road will be worth more than the a year in a garage.
