It’s a very busy design, the darker tones help mute that. I agree looks aggressive.

All cars look meaner in black....
By the way when you have to choose a dark colour to hide design elements, then obviously something is very wrong with the design IMO.

I’m in agreement there’s a lot of elements of the SF90 that don’t work aesthetically.

Obviously, this is a car I'm really looking forward to, but one thing I still cannot seem to figure out (help me out here, guys) is which car would be a direct competitor of this car....

Not the McLaren Senna
Not the Aventador (unless the successor is a 1000 bhp hybrid)
Not the "mildly" hybridized Sian
Not the AMG One/Speedtail/Aston Valhalla
Not the Bugatti/Koenigsegg/Pagani
Not the LaF/918/P1 successors

This seems to be a real puzzler

It's a pocket LaF at half the price. The order books are completely full for 2 years ad the Assetto Fiorano package is also maxed.
Great move to bring this power (1000hp) at that price (500k). Aston will (once again) be feeling the pain as an effect of the SF90.

Once you get into the hundreds of thousands of dollars range, the utilitarian aspects of the vehicle - what it can actually do - matter very little. Instead it's more about style, prestige, status, that sort of thing. So a car that is completely different on the surface - like the Rolls Royce Phantom, for example - is actually a real competitor to this car. And at the end of the day, it's a Ferrari. It doesn't really matter what it does, as long as it's not embarrassingly slower than the competition. You buy it because it's a Ferrari, and that's all you need to know really.

That said, I have a hard time imagining getting this over the 812. The 812 is cheaper, has way more exciting engine and is more practical and probably more comfortable. The only thing it doesn't have is bragging rights acceleration figures, but who really cares. The SF90 also looks dangerously close to an F8 with an electric engine stuck to it. It's kinda there with the Speedtail looking like a hypercar made on a budget. So yeah, from my imaginary fantasy billionaire myself, this gets a hard pass...

Yes, half the price of the LaFerrari and half the design....
I suggest being patient till we all get to see one in person; some card only show their lines/design cues in flesh, rather than in pictures. Mind you lots of people were also skeptical about more "busy" designs such as the Pagani Huayra, the McLaren 720S or heck, even the first-gen BMW Z4; but the popular view was More positive when the cars were seen by the masses on the exhibition/showroom floors or the roads...I don't know, guess some designs might grow on people once they're seen in person

SF90 is all well and good. But what would you choose? A 1000hp supercar with N/A V12 hybrid or a V8 hybrid?

I know my answer.

Aventador's replacement will be this Ferrari's biggest problem.
