"This time I have filmed this Audi RSQ8 racing against a Ferrari SF90 Stradale! They did a rolling start race of 50 km/h with a straight of meters during the SCC500 Rolling 50 1000. You will see it also racing against a Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro and a Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupé.

The 1/2 Mile race against the Audi SQ8 was during a drag event by Race1000 in Germany also. I hope you will enjoy this video."

Interesting, so the rear wing is real and will be on the production car.

It appears Ferrari is breaking their design philosophy of only using underbody and active aero only to generate down forces. I believe the F50 is their last road car with a fixed rear wing?

Adding more power has become and excerise in diminishing returns. The 992 GT3 and GT3RS shows that there are generational performance gains to be made using aero.

Your absolutely correct. In fact the first thing I looked at earlier was the difference between the GT3 laptime and the GT3RS laptime. They've pushed the natural aspirated platform possibly to it's limits.

The 992 GT3 only has 9-10hp more than the 991 but is a whopping 17 seconds faster around the Nürburgring thanks to better aero.

Yes, exactly my point it's as extreme as it'll get now. The next step is more power through hybrid assistance and possibly four wheel drive/steer and torque vectoring.

The ostentatious rear wing might have something to do with Ferrari's choice of design for their recent comeback to high-end endurance racing (unlike Peugeot's choice of design for instance), obviously on top of Ferrari's continuous engagement in F1 where a conspicuous rear wing is of course always present by default

Not that they wouldn't sell every single unit anyway, but it seems like their latest trend is to apply to their more extreme street cars the same design philosophy that they're applying to their racing cars

While the LaFerrari, the F12tdf or the 812 Competizione strived to maintain their rear wing as subtle as possible as an organic part of the overall design.
