SF90 [Official] All-new Ferrari SF90 Stradale

The Ferrari SF90 Stradale (Type F173) is a mid-engine PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) sports car produced by Ferrari. Production: 2019–2024 (Stradale/Spider), 2023– (XX Stradale/XX Spider). Model years: 2020–present. Successor: 849 Testarossa.
The NSX was not just heavy but also slow. It under-delivered against the unhealthy hype that built-up for years in the lead up to launch.
Aventador is slow? The NSX is as fast for less, more fuel efficient, better daily, did I say cheaper?

My memory with the gen2 NSX has been that while it's not as "pure" as the gen1, it still provides great performance. I think CH said it was almost 918-like.

Maybe I am too harsh on the NSX.

When the Holy trinity of hyper cars launched, they gave the impression that future supercars would be hybrids.

The NSX was but cars like the 570S wasn't and benefited from a huge weight advantage. Unfortunately for Honda, the 720s blew the NSX off the road and made the electric motors and battery seem redundant.

Yes the Mclaren is more expensive but it highlighted that ICE only supercars have plenty still to give.

In a parallel universe the NSX could have been a better car if it was ICE only.

2.2 seconds to 60 should translate to a 9.6/9.7 second 1/4 on the street. My guess is 9.65 at 147. I think this car will trap lower than the 765 but be quicker on the street. At the drag strip, where the traction advantage disappears, the 765LT beats this in my estimation.

similar to a 911 TTS which runs similar numbers on street and drag strip, sometimes even better on street. I think SF90 will follow same path.

If the Ferrari had a Tesla badge then it would do EZ 8.8s, maybe even 8.7s at 160mph+. But because it doesn't... I think that around 9.8s is a safe bet. The 0-60mph time is no doubt with a roll-out, the 0-100kph time would be 2.5s - which is the same as the 918. Depends really what the real world weight of the SF90 is. If it's like 1700kg, then it should be a bit faster than the 918, otherwise probably about the same.

sf90 stradala
60-130mph in 5,18 sec
100-150mph in 5,32 sec

765lt
60-130mph in 4,69sec
100-150mph in 4,76sec

once rolling the 765 lt hast the edge, also for 1000hp the top speed of the sf90 over the 1/4mile seems low, even on the pupblic road i would have expected 151-153mph.
I guess the sf90 real wight must be around 1850kg..

Interesting! Let's also do a comparison with the 918:

SF90
0-100kph: 2.5s
0-200kph: 7s
0-235kph: 9.62s
0-240kph: 10s
0-260kph: 11.9s
1/4: 9.62@146mph

918 (Autobild Sportscars test)
0-100kph: 2.6s
0-200kph: 7s
0-236kph: 9.99s <-probably from a different run
0-240kph: 10s
0-260kph: 12.2s
1/4: 9.99@146.6mph

The fastest quarter mile 918 test was from Auto.it with 9.83@148.2mph (238.5kph) and 2.5s 0-100. Their data only goes to 180kph, though. 0-160: 4.86s; 0-180: 5.87s.

Overall, the cars are fairly close, but the SF90 does seem to have the edge. It's interesting that the 918 traps higher, suggesting the SF90 has a much better launch to gain the fairly big time advantage, but there is only 0.1s difference to 100 and the 0-200 and 0-240 times are identical. The 918 was about 1650kg and had 887PS, resulting in about 540PS/t. The SF90 has 1000PS and is a bit faster, so you would expect 550-560PS/t. That would put the SF90 weight at 1785-1820kg.

EDIT: Also worth mentioning is the fact that over 200kph aerodynamics start to come to play and the car with more power will accelerate faster regardless of power to weight. So the SF90 might even be a bit heavier and have the same PS/t as the 918.
