I agree totally. No dissertation or measurements are needed right? Instantly beautiful cars are just that. The Italians rarely miss design wise imo.Holy crap, went to a nearby dealer to check out the Grecale and with no idea whatsoever whether to expect this in the dealer, but I saw not only the GranTurismo BUT also the MC20 in person. My goodness, in this age of weird-ass design quirks and superfluous BS, it was almost a breath of fresh air to see beautifully proportioned, beautifully designed cars without questioning is this an attractive car. They are absolute lookers. It won't grab you by the scruff to gaze at it, but if you come across it, you'll love it.
Now regarding the price....
The California was a bit of a blob… although it was supposed to be a Maserati but Sergio M made it a Ferrari at the nth hour … the 599 wasn’t gorgeous per se (at least by Ferrari standards).. in the Lambo isle there are a few questionable designs like the LM002 or the Urus, the first gen gallardo was acceptable, the huaracan tecnica etc.. not terrible like the Aztec but not as gorgeous as other siblings. That said I kind of lust after the SF90 and the Pista…. SomedayI agree totally. No dissertation or measurements are needed right? Instantly beautiful cars are just that. You lost me at the LM002 lol.The California was a bit of a blob… although it was supposed to be a Maserati but Sergio M made it a Ferrari at the nth hour … the 599 wasn’t gorgeous per se (at least by Ferrari standards).. in the Lambo isle there are a few questionable designs like the LM002 or the Urus, the first gen gallardo was acceptable, the huaracan tecnica etc.. not terrible like the Aztec but not as gorgeous as other siblings. Most definitely about the Grecale. I saw a non-Trofeo Grecale with the 4cyl turbo that was stickered at a few hundred dollars shy of $100K. Just plain nuts. This and the Grecale are WAAAAAY too expensive. They should each be about half the sticker to even garner a little attention
I agree with your list of some of the questionably-designed Italians. The only one I may take exception to is the 599. The 599 was fine but its length was a bit too stretched out. In that case, the F12 and 812 had better overall proportions. All that said, the 599 in GTO guise, with a little bit of aggressive but not OTTP bits helped detract from those faults just enough, IMO.The California was a bit of a blob… although it was supposed to be a Maserati but Sergio M made it a Ferrari at the nth hour … the 599 wasn’t gorgeous per se (at least by Ferrari standards).. in the Lambo isle there are a few questionable designs like the LM002 or the Urus, the first gen gallardo was acceptable, the huaracan tecnica etc.. not terrible like the Aztec but not as gorgeous as other siblings. F12 TDF and 812 Comp for me please.. all dayI should elaborate a bit on the GranTurismo's and the MC20's interiors.
Materials were shockingly impressive. Perhaps, I was overly impressed since I had the bar set low from the pics I saw. In the GT, the leather felt lush. The switchgear seemed fine. Still don't care PRND being smacked dab in the middle of the center console. Things looked well assembled.
The MC20, while devoid of switchgear, didn't feel as spartan as I thought it would, again, based on pics. I forgot it had scissor (dihedral?) doors, so that was a nice surprise. The interior was all Alcantara and looked good. It really is a striking car.
Now the price....yeah, the GT is overpriced though I think the MC20 is reasonably priced for what you can get. The GT's MSRP stickers in at $205,000 without any options, and the one I saw was a touch over $220K. The MC20's base is $230K and the one I saw about $305K with options. I think if you can get an MC20 at around $270K, that's not a terrible deal for an Italian marque that has a storied heritage.
