Still irrelevant. Why not compare compare to 535i? Will be even more favourable to CLA. Or they could have used TT RS or 1M.

Yea it will be interesting, it is already running a lot of boost - 26psi (for comparison I believe RS3 runs 17psi and 1M 11.6). It will also be interesting how peaky the power delivery will be. You can already see A45 having significantly slower in gear acceleration in this test http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3834/9795952943_a2520ec7df_o.jpg compared to others despite having an extra gear than both 1m and RS500.

The car it's dragging has about 430kW. Not bad I reckon. Both have launch control but HSV is rear wheel drive only.

Souped up Version of CLA45 AMG Greenlighted



Worldcarfans reports that AMG chief Tobias Moers recently admitted that there will be a more extreme version of the CLA45 AMG next year based upon the CLA45 Racing Series that is pictured above.

Moers states that during the development of the racing series model it was discovered that the CLA 45’s engine had more to offer than in its current form. Naturally we would expect a black series in the future. However, this particular model seems to slot between the current CLA45 and the distant CLA45 Black Series.

The CLA45 racing series car was developed by AMG in collaboration with HWA their collaborative racing team that happens to be most successful DTM style racing team in the history of the sport. HWA has seen tremendous success lately with the SLS AMG GT3. As of now the CLA45 racing series is only a show car that has strong potential of being offered on sale to customers in Europe as track day only vehicle.

Tucked in a corner of the massive North Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center is a Mercedez-Benz CLA45 AMG wrapped in flat black vinyl. The only thing that stands out about this car are the big red brakes, that is, until you pop open a door and spy the beautiful expanse of touchscreen that extends from passenger door across to and including the instrument panel. QNX has extended on the technology we saw in 2013with both better looking panels and a seriously handsome interface. For instance, the system can now run Jellybean apps -- as demonstrated by the inclusion of iHeartRadio -- a phone / tablet app which hooks into the system for passenger interaction and fullband duplex stereo vehicle to vehicle calling.

QNX also demonstrated it's Car 2.0 platform's flexibility when it comes to navigation. Rather than just one nav platform, the CLA45 included Elektrobit, Kotei Navi & Data,Aisin AW, and Nokia HERE to show how the system could be integrated into any vendor environment. The CLA is just a few interior refinements away from where it needs to be. A few higher quality plastic pieces and some more expensive detailing would go a long way. That said the exterior looks really good on this 45 model.

I think Mr. Achim Badstübner first job will be to fix CLA's exterior disproportions. Looks like Mr.Wagener got the right man for the job.
