No more manual Ferrari's in the future.

In the recent EVO, Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa was asked about a manual for the new 458. In fact, in regards to the new DCT system, the question was worded, "Is this the end of manual gearboxes in Ferraris?"

His response:

"Yes, it is. The 458 will not be available as a manual, nor will future Ferraris as customers no longer request one".

This writing has been on the wall for a while now, especially now that Ferrari has DC tech like everyone else. The jerky-SMG style gearbox is history too.

Sad. I would have preferred if the choice was with the customer. Hopefully Porsche, BMW and Audi will still continue to offer manual as an option.

The BMW M5 with the manual was horrible.

What he probably meant to say was : "the rev happy stresses-ed engine and manual transmission would reap each other to pieces, and performance would suck ".
