GT-R Nissan GT-R Spec V Thread (Spy pics & info)

The Nissan GT-R (Gran Turismo–Racing; model code: R35) is a series of cars built by Nissan from 2007 to 2025. It has a 2+2 seating layout and is considered both a sports car and a grand tourer. The engine is front-mid mounted and drives all four wheels. It succeeds the Nissan Skyline GT-R, a high-performance variant of the Nissan Skyline. The car is built on the PM platform, derived from the FM platform used in the Skyline and Nissan Z models. Production is conducted in a shared production line at Nissan's Tochigi plant in Japan.
^Yeah the power boost is minor kinda like what Ferrari did with Scuderia and F430,but i guess the difference is gonna be really pronounced since now all the eyes are on Nissan:D

So if I get this right, the car is only getting another 5 extra horsepower and lower weight. By how much, 100 kg?
The "brochure" says 520 ps and 600 Nm for a car that weighs 1640kg. That'll make for an improvement methinks...

First things I've seen regarding the GT-R V-spec here in Sweden:

The price for the beast is €172k and the allocation for Europe is said to be 50 pieces.

Hats off to Monster, Porsche Guy, Martin, Chonkoa and also Warot for an absolutely captivating discussion!

Such a high quality back-and-forth discussion that remained civil, professional and clearly conveyed the engineering passion that brings such members together on this forum.
In essence, reading through this discussion was similar to watching a suspense movie.. though instead of munching down a bucket of popcorn I grinded down my fingernails anxiously waiting to finish reading Porsche Guy's post knowing that Monster had responded with a civilized disection of the issues brought up by his factual foe!

Great stuff guys! Again hats off to..and if there's some way to extend this discussion/debate, then I beg of you all to please do so! I have next to no knowledge of the engineering side of motoring, but bloody hell do you guys do an excellent job of translating such technical topics into laymans terms. Just by reading this short discussion I just want to delve into a textbook about engine componentry, bores-and-strokes, engine output, transfer of horsepower to the wheel and of course weight distribution and the issue of CoG!

Keep it up guys!!!!!

Can't believe that discussion was more than 2 years ago. I am happy that it is still being read, thanks Beemer for your complements and I am delighted to know that our discussions have encouraged you to dive deeper into the technical details of cars.

Sh!t...this discussion is 2 years old?! ..when you were still in Uni...damn Monster, you're a real engineering whiz buddy!

Ferrari, Porsche and now Nissan... :watching:
