The car is fast enough. it goes from 0-100km/h in 5.4sec. I believe it`s the fastest in it`s class. What more could you ask for!!

Remember for the most part Mercedes is all about relaxed, unstressed engines. I'm sure if they wanted to they could squeez a lot more out of the engine. They probably will further into its life.

Every carmaker can make stronger engines if they want to.

And yea, the S8 is pretty disapointing, I was expecting so much from that car and I was let down...at least it looks good and I can buy a A8 W12 or a 750iL over it.....

Its great to see that guys make up their mind before they have driven S8

Yannis said the S550 was underpowered. I simply answered him.

Besides the excellent speed times Im more than sure the new S brakes and corners better than the W220. MB has that covered.

Every carmaker can make stronger engines if they want to.

The point is whereas some companies may tune their engines for say 90% of what it's capable, Mercedes generally takes the more conservative route of 80%.

I don't really know the percentages, just giving an example.
