I mean it worked for the M5 CS and M3 Touring CS, so why wouldn't it work here? The Black-Series models were strictly lightweight, two-door models, and they should stay there, given the long history. The newer versions leaned more toward track focus.
Mercedes-AMG would have to introduce a new nameplate for lighter-weight 4-door ultra-high-performance models. This kind of formula most likely would be a flop in the sales department. Unless these were produced in very limited numbers.
They would struggle getting those off the showroom floor, given the market is already struggling. 4-door buyers of Mercedes, even those who want the high-performance AMGs, demand luxury and emotion. (Hi-performance and luxury in one package.) Adding more power and a firmer ride in an AMG 4-door with track-focused seating does not sound like a successful formula.
Co-ask, Everyone so negative when it comes to Mercedes.I mean it worked for the M5 CS and M3 Touring CS, so why wouldn't it work here?
You telling me no one would buy a $150k 4-door Sedan, 650hp V8, 1700ish kg track weapon that does low 7s on the Nürburgring? Have you seen the amount of GT3s out here dude? Mind you each of those is like $280k minimum
They would be EVERYWHERE if Mercedes makes them.
Think 2040-2045.

It doesn't have to be limited to 2 doors only.I never said it wouldn`t work. I said it wouldn`t work as a Black Series because the Black Series are track-focused, lightweight, two-door models with very firm rides. (The Black Series formula has been reserved for the 2-door models only.)
Just because manufacturer's aren't going in that direction, doesn't mean that there aren't buyers out there would would snap up all the models in a limited run of a few thousand.A 4-door model (or models) would have to get a different nameplate altogether. The formula would work, but let's be realistic. The current management at Mercedes is not after these types of vehicles, and from the looks of it, neither is the competition, not by a long shot. The market has shifted since the M5CS. It seems the luxury car companies are pushing the top-end segments with more and more technology to maximize profits.
In today's day and age, a new Sedan with a V8 that was stripped back and lightweight, would absolutely kill. And they could charge $250k for it.
If they built them without PHEV, the taxes in some European countries would be crazy.
Where are my f#ck Greta stickers when I need them?!?
You think yo live in one of the biggest open free markets in the world until you realize that's just a made up story
Well actually if we think about it there will also be AMG versions of the CLA, GLA , GLB and GLC EQ models with 952PS and will be priced below 100K Euros, those models I can predict will be alot more popular for the masses. The 3x Hyper AMG GT EV models will probably be slow sellers but will be technology trendsetters for all future EV models. Mercedes AMG has already thrown the rule book out the window and made their name by setting so many world speed records. 1000kw charging and 10 to 80% in 5min is world beating.Gentlemans
Remember my words, all 3 AMG EVs will fail.
AMG driver usually don’t care about EVs.
Interesting tech honestly, bravo to them. They must never forget on improving the V8 to higher heights though, that is tradition to them, it’s what they’re KNOWN for.Well actually if we think about it there will also be AMG versions of the CLA, GLA , GLB and GLC EQ models with 952PS and will be priced below 100K Euros, those models I can predict will be alot more popular for the masses. If Ferrari can achieve 830HP with a hybrid 3.0 V6 and Lamborghini can achieve 800HP alone on their 4.0 V8 I am confident that AMG can also get to that level with their 4ltr V8. They achieved 612PS in 2018 with the E63 S V8 and 730PS in 2021 with the GT Black Series and with the latest E-turbo´s and with a flat plane crank and high lift cams allowing a rev limit of over 8000rpm, they should achieve 750 to 800PS easily on the engine alone.Interesting tech honestly, bravo to them. AMG V8s should be pushing 600hp minimum now, especially in C63 format.

I can’t believe that a GLC EV will have 952hp. I really think the press took that number and ran with it. I think that is the max the setup can make, not what it will make.Well actually if we think about it there will also be AMG versions of the CLA, GLA , GLB and GLC EQ models with 952PS and will be priced below 100K Euros, those models I can predict will be alot more popular for the masses. 952hp in my opinion is too much power for a medium size family SUV. In a straight line in will be lightning fast and probably will do less than 8sec to 200km/h but put the car in a corner then the laws of physics will take over and the tyres and brakes will have to take alot of load and heat. It will be over 2.5tons in mass. Imagine a mom and her small kids driving to school and then she floors the car at a traffic light by accident trying to control her noisy kids in the backseat, 952HP will not be easy to control and within 2.5sec or less she will be hitting 60mph.I can’t believe that a GLC EV will have 952hp. i like that we are on the same page, This new engine is so superior to the point the C63 should be pushing over 600hp reliably by now & E63 should definitely be pushing over 700hp alone too.If Ferrari can achieve 830HP with a hybrid 3.0 V6 and Lamborghini can achieve 800HP alone on their 4.0 V8 I am confident that AMG can also get to that level with their 4ltr V8. Tech is getting really advanced hey? These cars will be doing 0-60 in 1.5 seconds in less than a decade from now952hp in my opinion is too much power for a medium size family SUV. Its unbelievable that a GLC family hatch will have almost the same power as a 407km/h Veyron Hypercar from 20 years ago.
