The rear armrest only gets wood on the S600 and designo packages, and it would be all armrests not just the rear.

I dont mean loaded as in TV's and DVD's. Im talking about interior trim and such.. Make it look like an S and not cheap. I hate seeing a top of the line car with material inside.

yea i suppose but somewhere they have to draw a line between price and trim i guess...
another thought, they tried to use environmentally friendly materials didn't they? they want to be able to recycle as much of it as possible when the car is finished with so i suppose that could be a reason for certain materials being used??

I don`t understand what your getting at here. It looks nice to me, my only gripe is there are no grab handles in the doors panels like the W220 S
(What are you supposed to hold onto in a turn!)

Thats the problem... look at the pics in page 1 here by Roberto... car looks terrible that way, they should keep it up too par no matter what model S it is. It looks too tacky to be an S.

but then how do you separate the s600 from the s350? for double the price you want more than a badge and a better engine?

S600 would have a superior trim like it used too, hand stitched... there was always a difference int he S500 and S600 interior before the W220 as well.

Interior trim should be same at least to keep it on the S level, and not a C level.

It's really easy for black interior photos to look like absolute shite. And while the design may seem a bit simplistic, I highly doubt the materials would be cheap plastics. It will be high quality stuff whether you get the base model, or top of the range, albeit obviusly with some major differentiation between the two.

We were talking about the door panels of the M class with no leather... The newly released GL even though has the same designed door panels as ML there is a nice difference! Leather on doors with stitching!! Check it out!

Those door designs are very heavily inspired by Audi and VW Phaeton.

I agree the S should come one way only as a minimum. The minimum shouldn't have corners cut. It should look inside like a loaded S. At least i'd say.

I know what you are saying Alex, but there is a market for a very basic model - often used a company fleet cars or even as taxis.
