Pictures ***NEW Mercedes-Benz Museum: I went!!!***

Great, next time i go to Stuttgart i am hoping to go to the Porsche Museum instead. I believe that a new one is currently being designed and built (correct??) so i would like to see this one aswell. I have also in the past seen the BMW museum! I really liked Stuttgart as a city itself, really nice, great features and architecture. Very cosmopolitan! I love German cities like this, maybe one day i might move to Germany and live there!!!

I've been to the Porsche museum. It's not really a museum. I'm saddened that Porsche isn't really showcasing their glorious racing history. Instead, they have a little hallway big enough to fit two cars on each side and that's their "museum".

Here's my trip to the BMW Museum below. :usa7uh:

Germany is nice, especially Bavaria where I live. I also used to study in the UK. Very nice country you have there. I'd love to go back but life is so expensive over there.

Bavaria is the only part of Germany i have visited and i really like it there. England is a very expensive place to live, especially when buying cars and houses. The quality of life isn't brilliant in comparison to many other European countries so this is why i hope to one day move to Germany or Austria or Switzerland. I do speak moderate german ;)!

Eines Tages klapt es vielleicht mit dem Wunsch in Deutschland wohnen zu können. :D

Good to have you on the forums. Welcome once again. :t-cheers:

Thanks. :t-cheers:

Every Mercedes fan has to go here someday. It's like the Mecca for us Benz fanatics. :usa7uh:

Love life in Canada, I don't envy your cost of living, yet I do envy your culture and heritage:t-cheers:.
Half the people who see my car don't even realize it's a Mercedes let alone recognize how rare it is. I suppose that is a good thing in a way, allowed me to buy this car realy cheep simply because the dealer had no idea what the car was.

Canada has heritage too, it's just that they've not been around as long as the European countries and cultures. I do need to visit Canada some day. I got a lot of friends there including one in Victoria who has a three W126 S-Classes (all 560SEL's!).

You won't believe this, but that is pretty much the same story here. People don't recognize the SLC at all. They can see it is a Mercedes but they usually ask if it is some "elongated SL" (which is technically true). A sad example of just how forgotten the C107 is (and the W116 S-Class). A few days I ago I saw some cops writing down a W116 450SE that had parked illegally. I was ready to go over there and lecture them on showing some respect to this "forgotten Benz", even if he parked illegally! :D

Mercedes-Benz Museum now selling classic cars directly

Daimler has announced the Mercedes-Benz Museum is now directly selling classic cars from all periods.

If you are not a big fan of current car designs with the three-pointed star, now is your chance to buy a classic Mercedes-Benz under the new range called “All Time Stars” which contains three different subcategories: Premium Edition, Collectors Edition and Drivers Edition.

Premium refers to low-mileage classic cars that are in a “rare original condition” and were previously restored at Mercedes-Benz Classic in Fellbach/Stuttgart. Collectors Edition contains cars that are in “excellent condition both technically and visually” while Drivers Edition encompasses vintage models and modern classics in “excellent technical condition”, but these still need more restoration work.

You can check out the available stock at any time at alltime-stars.com and a relevant example from what you will find there in the Collectors Edition is this 1994 E 60 AMG Limited driven for 74,800 km (46,480 miles) and available for a cool €189,000. Only 12 cars were ever made with a V8 6.0-liter engine producing 381 PS (280 kW) sent to the wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission which back in the day granted a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) run in 5.4 seconds and an electronically-capped 250 km/h (155 mph) top speed.

The oldest car available is a Type 630 Kompressor from 1929 while the newest is an E 320 convertible from 1995. All vehicles offered through the Mercedes-Benz Museum’s All Time Stars go through an in-depth 160-item checklist and all of them have a fully detailed history.
