Hi fellows,

after almost 7 years of happy ownership of a BMW M4 F82 Competition, which I presented you here, it was time to move on.
Of course (after E92 M3, F82 M4) it was again something from the BMW ///M breed.
Picked it up last week from my dealer and got it back today from my detailer (done PPF and ceramic coating).

It is an LCI M4 Competition xDrive in individual paint British Racing Green  and full leather Kyalami orange interieur.
Although I'm still in the run-in phase, I'm already completely blown away. Fantastic car!
I love the carbon bucket seats. As current add-ons the car has M Performance height adjustable springs (should still settle a bit) and the M Performance front lip. And obviously Edelweiss LT-3 wheels in Champagne 20" all around with 285/30 in the front (turn-in heft/precision is mindblowing) and 295/30 in the rear.

Here some quick shots from my phone. Maybe I will come back with better shots after a photoshoot.

Amazing Manuel! Enjoy in good health! Those rims look amazing, BTW!

It's ///Magnificent! Wishing you everything of the best with your new ride.

My God....... congrats so much!

Absolutely love the rims too! They look like HREs?

Edit; Edelweiss I see. Great.

Holy batman, the alloys! Well deserved and due change for yourself. The CSL taillights get a chefs kiss from me. Can the ride height be adjusted without putting the car on a ramp?

Wow congratulations Manuel, the colour and those magnificent rims are the perfect combination. Brilliant absolutely brilliant.

Congrats Manuel. Looks sharp. BRG is amazing. Would love your take on how it compares to F82. Enjoy.

Nope ... you need some tooling ... so you have to go to the shop. And based on the adjustment you have to consider doing a new alignment...
At 2.000 km I have the run-in service. Will see, how much it has settled then and whether I feel, that it needs lowered a bit further or not. Since it is my daily driver I have to find the sweet spot between looks/aesthetics and usability.
But my verdict so far: Compared to my previous M4 also on BMW M Performance lowering springs, this generation is more compliant/comfy, while turn-in and general chassis movement/control is a level above. It is crazy how the engineers always find something to improve on an already well sorted out product. Crazy!

See my answer to @Centurion ... since I'm still in run-in, it is too early.
What I can already say: I was anxious about weight/feeling of it. One reason to vote for the race track package with the CCBs and carbon buckets ;) but since I also took the MxDrive the weight of my G82 will be around 120kg over my F82 ... so far it isn't noticable to me. Last autumn I did a trip to the alps (Sella Ronda passes tour) with the F82. I plan to do the same with the G82. I will report back then.

Another point is the ZF transmission: I'm absolutely positively surprised. Had strong concerns to miss my DCT of the F82! But if you know the Getrag DCT in the F series ... it had its quirks! If not driven under attack mode, it was clunky and during low speed manouvering sometimes simply shitty. ZF8 does this worlds better, whilst not really sacrificing snappiness during gear changes ... but still too early for a final verdict. Wait for me having driven it all-in on my most beloved backroads and Autobahn sections

Yeah I agree. Pretty much the only way in which you notice it's no DCT is when you downshift. There seems to be an ever so slight delay compared to a dual clutch. For the rest, I'd say the ZF is absolutely brilliant and flawless. Best gearbox ever made.

BTW, put some quick interior shots in. please. I'd love to see the new air vents and stuff.

G8X is one of the most complete BMW out of the factory. I could own one stock and be happy. This is in contrast to other beemer where during the first test drive you can make a shopping list of parts that need upgraded.

My only gripe with the car is the gearbox. At the limit the ZF doesn’t feel quick/convincing enough. However, for the 95% of time when you are not driving in anger it‘s dependable and lovely gearbox. For a daily driver, I would rather live with a slightly quicker shift speeds than a jerkiness at slow speeds or hill starts.

I would never get a car with big wheels like those and perf tires in the US. In Germany it’s a no brainer. It upsets me how bad the roads in the US are… :(.

That said that’s a brilliant spec. Enjoy in good health!!

How much lighter are your rims compared tot he standard ones @manuelf ? I checked their website and they say "ultralight", but compared to what exactly?

For what they are (not really forged rims) ... they are light.
On the front I have the LT-3 in 10,5 x 20 and they weigh 9,5 kg.
My original BMW 826M wheels I ordered with the car (staggered setup 19" front/20" rear) ... there the rear 10,5 x 20 rim weighs in at 11,5 kg! So the Edelweiss rim is about 2 kg lighter in the same dimension, ALTHOUGH the OEM rim is forged!

and ... since last week a friend (amateur photographer and crazy track driver with a E36 328i extreme track build) did a photoshoot with my new ride and his track toy .. I wanted to share with you.

If some of you have a dejavu - it is because I posted those pics in a thread at bimmerpost.com ... the feedback there was MASSIVE and the bimmerpost admins decided to publish my thread/post/pics on their front page

Sensational spec, many congrats again and thanks a lot for taking the time to post a few pics.
Are you against the idea of putting the CS grille on it (without that nasty red rim)?

And congrats on your Bimmerpost hit my friend, LOL. Your car's famous already.

No! Not at all! I was really thinking about it! It is very common nowadays to have this mod. But I'm undecided yet... I will have a talk with my dealer next time, when ordering winter wheel set (I plan to order the 827M in gold - so this is the CS/CSL wheel setup) ... how much he asks for it ;)
