A1/S1 New Audi A1.

The Audi A1 is a luxury supermini car launched by Audi at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. Sales of the initial three-door A1 model started in Germany in August 2010, with the United Kingdom following in November 2010.

German site AutoNews has an illustration of how the new generation of A2 might look like.
The next A2 will be a competitor for BMW's Mini. Sporty proportions, a complex chassis and strong engines will distinguish the compact Ingolstädter from the competition. So far there is no official confirmation from AUDI for the building of the A2 so most of the information are speculations.

Re: Next generation Audi A2 illustration and details.

Here i must note that some other sources say that this car will be named A1, so A1 and A2 are the same car.

Also this thread will be merged into the old A1 thread after a couple of days. The only reason i started a new thread is to appear in the main page.

Re: Next generation Audi A2 illustration and details.

Looks nice from this angle, reminds me on the beautiful SB concept.

:t-cheers:

Re: Next generation Audi A2 illustration and details.

What's not to like? For some reason I was always fond of the A2 - looking forward to the next one.

Re: Next generation Audi A2 illustration and details.

The original they used for the chop was an A6. I remember seeing that background before and the rims are the same also.

Re: Next generation Audi A2 illustration and details.

The chop looks too much like an Audi TT hatchback.

Re: Next generation Audi A2 illustration and details.

i thought it's vw golf's job to compete with the mini, aren't they cannibalizing their own sales again?

Re: Next generation Audi A2 illustration and details.

It reminds me of the Peugeot 206

Re: New Audi A1/A2. The Mini Killer?

Very nice looks but i don t like audi s boring fwd
and quattro systems of audi give sooooo much understeer you will be crying when you push the car hard thru the corners. I drove RS4 and RS6 and S3. Those cars could not give me any satisfaction thru the corners. When i want to ga fast in a straightline i take thalys train.

Real cars have a rwd with lsd setup end of discussion.

Re: New Audi A1/A2. The Mini Killer?

I think VAG will be kicking themselves in the ass with one. The Mini is all about cuteness and that isn't cute, that looks just like any audi. The only Audi which can compete against the Mini in terms of looks is the TT.

Re: New Audi A1/A2. The Mini Killer?

The "old! A2 was cute?

The new A2 will have lines and shape as the A5, and that's Bentley, Jagg, Aston and Audi into it... I love the feeling... :)

I persume that you didn't drove the new RS4 that teaches the competition more than a few lessons.

Re: New Audi A1/A2. The Mini Killer?

I like the chops that Iceman posted, a very nice rear end treatment, the front end... a little less creative.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
