Hey everyone, firstly I'd like to introduce myself as I'm new to the forum, so hello to everyone. I've joined because I've been a silent reader of this forum from time to time, just because I get some really good insight from reading some posts. However, today I'm in need of some advice.. I've been an AMG guy my entire life, and I've tried a couple of BMWs out in my lifetime (2007 335i cabrio & a 550i). However, when I sold my last AMG in 2011 (CLS), I decided I wanted a change for a year or two, so I purchased an Audi s4 and remained very disappointed, not because it's not a good car, but because naturally it is in a much lower class than a CLS amg, so I was underwhelmed generally - but great car otherwise.
Now it's time for a new car.. I'm not sure if I'll go for a 2012 C63 AMG coupe with the development package & fully loaded or a 507 edition, or if I'll go for a 2012/2013 BMW M5. So, I'm here for some advice.. I know the AMG hits 0-60 almost a full second quicker from my research (C63 is around 3.6s, M5 is around 4.4s), the AMG's interior is much nicer(red and black two tone) as I think the M5's interior is a bit dull, but it does look very luxury and spacey. The exhaust sound from the AMG is incredible, but the M5 isn't too bad either.
Now I'm just tied up as to which one looks better from the outside, I can't decide and this is ultimately the most important factor in deciding for me so I want some opinions. I also want to know which car would be more reliable if anyone knows, and finally what the depreciation is like on either car, I know AMG's depreciate quite badly because I've lost money on the few I've owned, but then again you have 335's now that you can purchase for under $20,000 before tax that were $75,000 or w.e brand new so.. Any advice helps, thanks a lot guys.
