Roadtrips My Roadtrip to USA, California 2008

Re: My Roadtrip to USA, California 2008 -part 1-

I'm very very sorry you had to experience such a thing.
Hopefully you returned to Europe unscathed. :D

We rented a Chevrolet Impala on the internet to pick it up in S.F when we arrived. But something went wrong and we got ourself a Ford Escape.
Luckily I would say becuase of its size.
And I must say its a good thing the humans invented Automatic gearbox and GPS. Very, very useful in USA.

I am also going to Vegas during may 24th with my family and I wanted to know if there are any good attraction there or anything I should go see! Thanks!
There are no good attractions in Vegas, there is nothing to do!
The main area to visit is the Strip, Downtown is not so nice.
The only really good casinos off Strip are Green Valley Ranch in Henderson and RedRock to the far West of town.
Lake Las Vegas is a nice little area, but if you are short on time skip it.
Lake Mead/Hoover Dam is worth a look, but the lake is down A LOT.
Most of the things to visit are right along the Strip.
If you want to know about places with single mothers tring to suport their family while going to college, let me know. Then again I haven't been to that many of them so I am not much help.

So if I go up in the Stratosphere again, I can see your house?

Sure bring a high power telescope and maybe you can see my roof and one window.

Thanks for the tips! Thanks Justme for the reply also, I think I'll enjoy the view!
I'll be definitely staying on the strip, specifically at The Mirage. I will be there for 6 days, 1 day visiting the Grand Canyon, and just wanted to know if I should visit any restaurants there :D, planning to gain a few pounds over there.

Thanks in advance

P.S Have you visited Lamborghini Las Vegas? I heard that there was a Bugatti Veyron there on display. I have never seen a Veyron in real life and wanted to take this chance to see one.

funny you should say that, because i did meet david hasselhoff at my school while giving a group tour. Have you seen his music videos - theyre a riot.
I hope you took a drive up the 1 (Pacific Coast Highway) into malibu...thats a great drive plus your much more likely to see actors like hasselhoff and gibson.

Re: My Roadtrip to USA, California 2008 -part 1-

We did drive through Malibu but we never stopped. Never saw any celeberties at all during the roadtrip. Nice cars though.
I have never seen so many Rolls-Royce in my whole life but in US they are all over the place. Only saw one single Maybach in "Santa Barbara".

Before I came to US I only seen two or three Aston Martin in my whole life but in the California they were all over the country. Seem to be very popular over there.

I have a funny video clip of a guy working out on the beach in Santa Monica. No offense to him but it looked ridicolous.

Ps We also did a quick stop in Beverly Hills.

Let me guess, it's a HD clip that accounts for 9.9 GB of all the 10 GB of pictures and videos. :all_cohol

:D:D:D Just kidding of course. Awesome pics Andreas, please post more soon. :usa7uh:

I have never been to the Lambo dealer in town, but have driven by it several times since it is right next to the freeway.
There are plenty of restaurants that are very good, plenty of good steak houses.
If you plan on going to any night club, Pure is nice, I have heard good things about Tao, I found LAX a little crouded.

Here you can see they are building a new road for the trucks. Very high bridge, must be a great view.

Grand Canyon. What an awesome view. Windy and cold when we were there. Jacket and a warm sweater was a must.

Next stop. San Diego. I like this city a lot. Good weather and lovely place to visit. Here is USS Midway, aircraft carrier. From World War II.

I always wanted to be a pilot. Closest I will ever get. I felt like Tom Cruise from Top gun. ;)

Actually the waterline is the top of the spillways, it has only reached that line a few times, it is normally lower then that, but not this low. Yes over the past two years they have found bodies (from the mob days) as the water level dropped.
The bypass bridge will be nice, but it hasn't made much progress the past two years.
Did you see any ghosts while on the Midway?
