My M4 Competition XDrive

With the Taycan GTS still fresh in my mind, I decided to jump back into an ICE that promises to deliver on most of the ownership aspects I am after, for the time being.

Despite allegedly being a BMW troll, perhaps I should change my name to Mr. BMW because the M4 is now the 5th BMW I have owned personally.

The car is booked in for PPF, tint etc. on Monday and I have to decide if I will go Gloss or Satin PPF (Vote away please!)

My friend took delivery of his M3 at the same time so I've included a couple of photos. The M3's are now fitted with iDrive 8, but I am glad my car has iDrive 7 from both a UI and aesthetic point of view.

Life is short. Have fun and apply Satin PPF it will make it stand out more as YOUR car and not another bimmer on the road. Keep alloys gloss and don’t smoke the tail lights.

Congratulations, beautiful spec. I changed my M2 deposit to an M4 (need for an all-year vehicle) recently and am patiently waiting for a slot to open up. I have considered matte finishes, however I am concerned that they are trendy and will not age gracefully. The one posted above seems like too much matte, maybe something less aggressive?

In any event, well done Mr. BMW!

I much prefer the UI and aesthetic of the 'Old' dashboard. I find iDrive 8 a mess to use and the integration of the horizontal screen looks completely out of step with the rest of the interior IMO. I'm actually glad the 4 series is the last of this platform to get the update, as it is now on both 2 series coupes and 3 series variants.

Not much love on here for the Satin PPF it seems. 2 to 4 so far, if you include @Centurion's vote.

I feel it actually accentuates the lines of the vehicle with the greater play of light and shadow. I'm just worried I'll find the car dull.

I'm still torn as I'm not an 'aftermarket' look sort of guy, but then I'm also thinking WTH, let me just have a bit of fun. I'll likely have this car for 18 months max, as I do have my eyes on the next gen AMG GT if it's a 2+2.

Yeah, satin is not for everyone, definitely gloss black is easier at reselling.

I thought that driving EVs, especially a Taycan GTS, makes it hard going back to an ICE car.

Last time, you were hugged and kissed for buying the 8 GC, only to be dumped as he was a boyfriend without a job soon after, because of an S class.

Then the same case with BigSam who received good wishes by passing a test drive as if he was buying an M3 (for sure) and then sold it two months later for more than what he paid for it (for sure, an idol) and showed up with a C200.......

For all that, I no longer give love just like that, it's that men are all the same

But even so, congratulations, I don't like the black wheels, the rest yes, especially the interior, I think that you will be faithful to this one...
