Hey guys. I'm making this thread just for sh!ts and giggles and to see what you guys have to say. I'm not making this because I think I'm going to be the next Walter De'Silva, LOL.

These sketches are basically the crap that I doodle in class when I'm bored. So these are not anything serious, just stupid crap to kill the time while my teachers bore me.

Still, let me know what you guys think. I will be doing this whole semester long and scanning them in as soon as I get the chance.

GHETTO! :D

Cool stuff. There's potential there!

I'm not ashamed, they are pretty ghetto. LOL

i suggest to start with wheels(don't be afraid to **** them up)
try to make lines fast and in one go - hairy lines are a no go

Thanks for the advice. But I hate designing wheels. I have no imagination when it comes to wheels. As for hairy lines. Yeah, it's a bad habit of mine. But then again, I'm doing this in class trying to make sure my teacher doesn't see me. LOL :D I'll try to design with cleaner lines, but I don't know about the wheels.

there is no need for bling bling rims on such ghetto(:D) sketches
just use some effective lines to show what you want

...those remind me on my electric engineering classes ... my folders looked more like a car sketchbook :D

I'll definitely give them a shot. A new batch of sketches will be coming by the end of next week since I got class on all 4 days. :t-cheers:

Ha ha ha...I know I'm not the only one who doodles in class. Many kids do it, but VERY few actually sketch cars. I'll give perspective a shot this time around too, but I'm hideous at perspective though.

BTW, dude, scan yours and put them in here if you want. I started this thread just for fun and didn't want my sketches (and paper) to go to waste.

thankfully i am not in school anymore :D
so those doodles are in the nirvana

but i can but some doodles up later

LOL, if those are "show-able" sketches, that makes mine "burn the page" sketches. :D

Are those your sketches?

keep in mind that i'm practising this since several years now
so there is alot of work behind this(and i am not yet where i want to be)

Jack, is this what you're talking about with less hairy lines?
yep you are getting there
now give me some wheels :D

I think that's part of my problem. I don't really practice. I just doodle in class without taking it seriously, but I should probably practice more often just so I can get better. But I seriously do suck at perspective. I have some perspective sketches from a year or two back that I'll post for your amusement. :D

I'll draw some wheels next time. I kinda forgot on that one. :t-crazy2:

hey i have some perspective sketches from 2006 that are going to amuse you too :D

getting really into car drawing is alot of work, and probably only pays off when you want to get into the design industry

but hell if you do it just for fun GO FOR IT ! its also a nice hobby :D

I did go to design school for 1 year but left for Business School instead.

1. Design school was WAY too expensive.
2. The first year all we did was learn basics like how to sketch a box, learn a bit of photoshop, Vellum, and Shop Tech, like how to mold fiberglass, shaping clay, instacast, etc.

But it truly was WAY too expensive. The amount of money that school would've cost me, I could be a doctor or lawyer. The other reason I left is because the Director of the program told me that if I'm better at something else and can do it (business, law, med) then go into that because their is way more money in that. He said that a lot of the people in design school (at least ours) were not good with books, etc., but are really good at art. So, I took his advice and left for business school. Happy to say that just last semester I got Highest Honors by the president of my college for my high GPA.
:t-cheers:

good to see that you are doing so well :usa7uh:

i am currently between two chairs...
the first design university didn't pick me
i still have to take a test at the second one
if it doesn't work out this year i'll also do buisness

(universities are for free in austria, so thats a plus)
