My car doesn't need 'em, in fact i don't remember i've ever seen an E60 with eyebrows...

Your car on the other hand might not need 'em, but for sure it would look much better, simply because the headlights are bit oversized for such small car... I saw several 1ers with eyebrows and it looks stunning.

I know you disagree, but that's just my opinion.:D

:t-cheers:

I now know how much my car weigh. I put it on a big scale and the weight showed 1444 kg (including me).

My summer tires are on and coming home from US I had to go out and drive my car since its almost 3 weeks ago since last time.
I couldn't hold the throttle. I took the car to the freeway and hit the pedal.
I reached 220km/h on the speedo before I had to break.

It felt awesome. Very stable in +200 km/h and the brakes gave me lot of confidence. My babybimmer is a fantastic drive.

Sounds great!! My dad talked to an owner of a 135i Coupé yesterday. He was absolutely amazed by the car. (My dad will telling me some details tomorrow) Maybe, we are going for a testdrive in the summer - can't wait. :D

220 km/h on the speedo is fast enough for such a little car. ;) Very good, that it's stable at those speeds. :usa7uh:

I'm just back after a proper testdrive with my father's BMW 325i E90.

Compare to my car, his car is obviously faster than mine, 170 hp vs 218 hp.
With his car you can reach about 105km/h in second gear and third gear goes all the way up to 150km/h. With my car I have to change to third gear before 100 km/h and to fourth gear around 135-138 km/h. At 5500 rpm you can feel a power boost with my fathers car, thats when the 325i starts to shine in my opinion.

Even if his car is faster than mine, a 325i isnt more fun to drive.
You feel that 3-series is larger car than a 1-series to drive. My babybimmer feels more nimble and agile when you push the cars hard.
When you are inside in the drivers seat my car ,again, feels sportier.

Would I choose E90 over a 1-series?
No, I wouldn't.
Firstly, I dont need a larger car. I have no kids yet so a 1-series is a perfect size for my needs.
I'm still into the "driving experience" era and a 1er offer a better driving experience than a E90 and another bonus is that my car is more fuel efficient than my fathers which I like since the gasprices in Sweden are way too high right now.

Now with more than 20000 kilometers Im still satisfied with my car choice. :usa7uh:

The car looks just fine the way it does now, I also wouldn't spend any money on new rims, you already got the M wheels and they look great :usa7uh:

I hope your dad is ok! The car is replacable. A human being, not!

PS. Very nice photography!

:t-cheers:

Thanks!

the deer was still alive after the accident and it took 40 minutes before a hunter came and took its life. The deer was in more pain than my dad.

OMG, sounds absolutely horrible!
Your dad should* have put the car in reverse and drive over the deer again to kill it....40 minutes...:(

* should, because even though I know I should do it if that happened to me, I probably couldn't do it...

I know but like you said, its not easy. Also the animal lie in the ditch and you dont want to go there with your car. But its law to call the police so they can contact a hunter to kill the animal for you. It wouldnt surprise me one bit if many people wouldnt care and just continue driving.

I know, you're right. It's very sad. For your father for having to experience it, for the deer for being so long in pain and for all the other people who would just drive off and leave the deer..

The only good thing is that the animal probably was in shock already and didn't really feel it anymore...or so I hope.

Quick summary about my car after two years of ownership.

Good
+ Steering feel
+ Gearbox
+ Handling
+ Engine sound
+ Reeving all the way to 7000 rpm
+ Sports seats
+ Thick steering wheel, fit my hands perfectly

Bad
- Run-flats (thank god I changed them)
- Fuel consumption (not as good as BMW claims)
- Coughing engine (sometimes the engine "cough". BMW tried to fix it three times, no solution yet)

Total 4,5 out of 5 stars.

---
Mods for the car:
Tinted windows, shorter radio antenna, no more runflats.

The run flats are shit, that´s true, and the fuel consumption the the BMWs use to be worse than what BMW claims, or at least that´s what I read in the car magazine I use to read.

But once again your car is a very good one, the wheels are just that, wheels, and you can change them easily, and the fuel consumption is not bad at all, so, perfect ;).

hey guys

only my third post. but i currently own 118i 2005 in sapphire black and its great little drivers car.
its my first car and cant imagine anything is better than it lol.

at Just_me
I also had the coughing engine syndrome where the rpm would dip by itself on idle and would shake the car like a cough.
But bmw fixed it by flashing the software that controls the rpm and works great now. when i had the problem i was getting extremely poor fuel economy as a result of the mixture of petrol and air was screwed up.

hope that helps..

yes i know my username is clsmerc and i own a bmw lol

Engine sound, really andrea ? :D

Yes really.
For a 4-cylinder its good. And the sound got better after about 800 kilometers.
BMW have worked on the sound from the exhaust. I think the sound is different from a 120i without M-package?
I'm not saying it sounds like a M3/M5 but its not bad and quite entertaining once the reeving getting higher.

Not the best sound quality but roars quite well :D
