My BMW 120i M - 07

Andreas...the front 130i chrome grills are really cheap..they cost 74 euros and they go on really easy.

We were really pressuring you about xenons...and thank God you got them eventually...cause they look amazing!! They do a great job at night...and of course the rings are very nice and very aggressive. Also...did you notice that they fade-on when you unlock the car and then fade-out? Really cool!!! :t-cheers:

Congrats again. I'm sure you're keen to complete the break-in procedure.

Any modifications planned? Planning to take it to the track to take advanatage of that sweet handling chassis? That's one sure way of wearing down your fun-flats sooner!!! LOL. :D

By the way, shouldn't this thread be in the "My Car - Owners Gallery" section of the forum??

Hey hey, big congratulations Andreas. You've been patient and now it's all panned out; you're a BMW owner now. Well done, you must be really pleased!

All the best and many many safe and pleasurable miles.

PS. Not like I'm recommending it or anything but as a general rule, I believe that there is absolutely no harm in revving the engine now, once in a while, all the way to 7000 rpm. Some dude at the factory already did anyway when they bench tested the engine. ;)

In running an engine in, the most important consideration is to start using varied rpm's with varying throttle position only ensuring that the car is well into operating temperature for some time before bringing up the revs.

Anyhoo, it is your car and you must run it in as you see fit.

no modifications before I have done a DITEC treatment (protection for the car paint and so on), the winter will soon be here, my poor little car, after the winter I have a trip to US and for the summer Im going to N-ring to drive my car. Also Im going to tint my windows. Thats where my money is going ;)

I'm back from a nice evening drive out on the countryside. Excellent roads to see how the car behave.
I took several shoots and here are the ones I feel are the best.

Hope you enjoy my photos :t-cheers:

Fantastic scenery...green hills and curvy roads! One really lucky car!!!

I am trying to get mine out of the city traffic...but I can't...too much work...and so little time over the weekends!!

I have to say...I love how the car looks when it's dirty. I have a thing actually for dirty cars...I kinda like them! Black rims from brake dust and dirty doors/bumpers from rain and dust...it makes the car look like its been driven fast and in any condition...sort of like a rally car :D

Then my car should look like it finished first in Paris-Dakar :D :D :D :D

God, had to break all I could to avoid crashing into two deers that crossed the road. I was driving about 70km/h when I saw two deers running in front of my car. I hit the brakes all I could and left the place with two black stripes on the asphalt.

Good thing, I know the brakes work and no jerkiness in the steering wheel during hard braking.

Very cool!

I remember you telling me that the sport seats seemed to be more comfortable than the standard seats. I saw a 120d in the showroom a few days ago with the sports seats and tried it. There was more back support which the standard seats seem to lack. When someone in my family uses the 118i, we usually have a pillow underneath our backs for support.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the engine too. I am perfectly happy with the 118i's performance. It's a very well-balanced engine. A question for you, is the 120i engine a bit "loud" when in neutral? This is the case with our 118i, or maybe it's because ours is an automatic? :t-hands:

Nice write-up and beautiful pictures! How come you never participate in the photo competitions!?
:D :t-cheers:

yep, I said so before. I think BMW sportseats in most cases are more comfortable than the standard chairs. Weird isnt it!

I dont think its loud but what is loud? I think its individual what you think.
At idling the car remind me of a diesel although not as extreme a diesel (thank God :D ).

I dont think I had anything intresting to show but now with my new car I might be out driving more :D
Im going to US next year so hopefully I get some nice photos from my trip.
Regarding my photos on the babybimmer a photographer saw my photos and he was impressed by them, he thought they were very nice. And of course I was flattered to hear it from a pro

I think I agree with your diesel comments. At idle our 118i sounds a bit loud. It doesn't bother me at all, but I was just curious. Nonetheless this engine has character. The way it behaves, responds and sounds. Very nice. When you drive aggressively, she almost sounds like a BMW 6-cylinder. :D
