My Audi A3 2.0 FSI

Excellent car Mr. Mercedes, I like the 3-door better than the 5 myself. Why the automatic though?

I did consider a manual, but i've driven an automatic for last last 5 years and feared a would regret a manual choice 6 months down the track (I'm lazy :D ). Also the car has paddle shifters behind the steering which are fairly fun to use.

Nice ride. Congrats.

So, your name is MrMercedes, your avatar is a BMW logo and you drive an Audi. :D

EDIT: Your avatar used to be a BMW logo!

Every one of them has something different and special to offer. :usa7uh: When it come's to my preferences it's not so much determined by the brand, but by what each vehicle offers in terms of styling, price, luxury, dymnamics, safety, technology etc. over/in comparison too the competition. i.e. I would choose:

S-class over the 7-series and A8
Facelifted 5 over the E-class and A6
A3 over the B or A and 1-series.

But when it comes to TOP LINE (i.e. price is no object) vehicles...Mercedes still commands my Loyalty. :D

Thank's again everyone for all the kind words.:t-cheers:

I LOVED this car so much I've gone ahead and bought another. :D

I drive a company car during the week, and there was no way I was gonna let my wife use the A5 as a learner vehicle so that's been sold and I've gotten another 2006 A3. I Had such fond memories of my first A3. It was just a really high quality, solidly built, refined, good looking small car. And it still looks good! Pulls at my heart strings far more than the subsequent A4 and A5 ever did.

The new one is a Sportsback in Dolphin Grey. I hope to have it by Monday.

I'll probably keep this car untill I can decide between the next 1-er, 3-er, C coupe or A3. Anyone care to summarise a timeline these vehicles are expected to launch?

So I decided to let the wife continue driving the A3 and bought a fun little car just for myself. Any guesses? ofgligt

Fun little car usually refers to either Mazda MX-5 (Miata) or something with a MINI badge...

:D :D

A used MK VI Golf GTI! :D

Colour is Black Magic with the standard tarten cloth interior. It's got the 18 inch alloys and navigation as upgrades. It also has an APR tune which takes the power up to 188KW and torque to 408 NM. 0-100 in 5.5 seconds. I'm looking for ANY excuse to drive at the moment lol.

Nice car mate, i think this is the 1st 3 door A3 i have seen.
Just one question, how come you didn't choose a Golf GTi instead?

I knew it !!! Congrats man it is a massively fun car to drive. I was right back in 2007, it just took you 4 years to get the GTi :D. It is a good choice considering the demand for this car is still very strong, so you can drive it around for a year or two without losing much in resale value.

Please post some photos as soon as you can.

lol thanks Monster. You were right from the onset, and it did take me 4 years and a whole host of cars in between before finally stepping into a GTI. My car ownership history has been an interesting journey:

1. 1992 Honda Prelude VTIR - 1 1/2 years 2002-2003
2. 1998 Honda Prelude VTIR - 3 1/2 years 2003-2007
3. 2006 Audi A3 8P 3 door - 1 1/2 years 2007 - 2008
4. 2008 Audi A4 B8 - 3 months 2008
5. 2008 BMW 125i Coupe - 1 Year 2008-2009
6. 2007 MB C200K W204 - 1 Year 2009-2010
7. 2008 Audi A5 3.2Q - 4 Months 2010-2011
8. 2006 Audi A3 8P Sportback - 6 months 2011-
9. 2008 VW Golf GTI VI

The Golf has been great for the past 2 weeks, and while it's too early to add to my all time favorites I think it may end up second or third. Highlights would have to be the 2007 C200K, 2006 A3 3 door and 1998 Prelude in that order. The low point was definitely the 2008 A4 B8. What a horrendously overrated vehicle.

I'll post some pictures as soon as a I get a chance. :usa7uh:
