Basics:
  • Lightning Silver - Really nice silver color with a light blue hue and blue paint specs.
  • 6 speed
  • Quicksilver Exhaust - Phenomenal
  • ECU Tune - about 560hp at the crank is what I was told
I actually took delivery over a week ago, but haven't come around to posting yet. Been too busy posting pictures of other cars :D

One of my long time dream cars became a great value proposition I could no longer ignore. The second-hand market value seems to have bottomed out and is now slowly rebounding like the SLR (another dream car, but I passed on a amazing opportunity long ago). This will be in my garage for years to come.

Power delivery is so smooth and relaxed.

At first I thought the shift-lever was placed a bit too rearward for an ideal shifting position, and the clutch’s iffy take-up required some practice for smooth starts. I've gotten used to the experience. The lever itself is easily the nicest feeling shifter, imo (along with the Carrera GT's wooden shifter and the 911R's shifter). You can just rest your palm on it.

On Astons, the clutch engagement is high. What I'm finding out over time is that it helps me shift relatively quickly since the clutch travel of disengagement is quite short.

Not the fastest car out there - and that's quite nice. I can get towards the rev limiter without doing illegal speeds.

I strongly believe the DBS is the most photogenic car post-2000; so gorgeous. If find myself taking photos whenever I park.

The one great thing about the infotainment system is that it never has to be used and can remain concealed. Bluetooth integration connects upon startup.

I thought it would be a weekend car, but it's becoming a daily driver because it's a very comfortable GT.

Also, the DBS is very DIY-friendly for basic repairs and I have a copy of the service manual. Parts are also easy to locate due to Aston's former ownership by FoMoCo.

Congrats!!! I still love the design of this car. Arguably the best looking car in production during it's time.

A moment like this truly deserves this

One of the classiest designs that walks the line of elegant and aggressive to absolute perfection. I love the black leather with white stitching. I saw this exact spec about 7-8 years ago in SoCal and was drooling. Congrats on a wicked car and enjoy in good health.

To me the favourite Aston ever, fell in love after I saw this video back than...And of course seeing it in Bond movies, congratulations!

Congratulations @sako97 - you lucky bugger! Manual, V12... good grief it must be heavenly. Many happy, safe units of distance.

Fantastic.it aapearsthat you have done your research to avoid losing much money on it. The V12 must be an absolute peach at start up, and the fact that the car featured in James Bnd is icing on the cake.

What mpg do you avarage is the size of the fuel tank large enough?

An excellent choice, Sir.

The A-M DBS, Virage (as well as its' FL DB9 successor) and the current Vanquish are bonafide automotive sculptures. They rank high on my personal "favorites list". Congratulations.

You've got taste my friend. That's my favorite version of the DB9's. It's one of my dream cars as well (along with the F430), so congratulations and enjoy in good health.

PS
Just saw James Bond the other day. I wanted to ask him where his Aston Martin was, but he was with his kid, so I didn't say anything.

Thanks everyone for the very kind messages.

I sense that cold start up will annoy my neighbors, but I think it's worth the sacrifice.

Real MPG = Gas station fillup everytime I take it for a mid-to-long drive. My Tesla driving treehugger SO does not like at all.
Official city figure: 12.1 l/100km
80L fuel tank

@sako97 - you lucky bastard!:bowdown::bowdown: I have no words except one proposal - key for key, my M550i for your Aston...:eusa_pray:eusa_pray:eusa_pray:eusa_pray

Your M550i is a special machine.(y) Would easily leave me in the dust in a drag race.

I heard Craig was a long time NYer from someone else a while back. He's really introverted so no one really approaches him like other big actors.

The scene that did it for me:

Even though it's a bit cheesy, the thought did cross my mind:D

Casino Royale is a good film but I can never watch it without laughing at all the Ford product placement: Jaguar, Range-Rover, Ford, and Aston

That's where my affinity began for me (RE: Ultimate Garage thread, although I may have eliminated in the most recent update. Terrible memory.) It looks in its element tooling around NYC.

Daniel Craig and his wife, the striking Rachel Weisz, are big in the theater scene. I think he was in the most recent run of Othello, though I can't remember if it was in London or NY.
