Admittedly, the X6 M seems like odd selection here for comparison since it is a massive and 5200 lbs SUV being compared to sport wagons. :t-hands:

1st Place: Porsche Panamera Turbo
Have you ever wondered what Zeus would drive? Stop wondering. Start lusting after the world's best four-door supercar.

2nd Place: Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon
This is a supercharged, 556-horse-power, 551 pound-feet of torque, rear-drive station wagon-with a manual. Prayers do get answered.

3rd Place: BMW X6 M
Earns its M badge in every aspect save one: desirability. More a historical footnote than anything else.

WTH? X6M shorter brake distance than Panamera and quicker around the track than the Caddy.

Does this make any sense? To compare these cars?

I mean, really?

It sort of does. All three cars are cross-dressers. They are what they are but are trying to be something else, or more like, many things else. But I wouldn't use this comparison as a reference if I was in the market for either cars.

All 3 are premium-brand wagon-type cars with 4 doors, likely to be used by family dad types who want a little more performance (and luxury) than your typical wagon. X6M was perhaps included because in previous tests it may have impressed them objectively, so they'd want to see how it fares against some others, which it did quite well. X6's by and large aren't used here like you would a true SUV like, say, a Jeep Cherokee; they are used more like wagons. No M5 Touring here in the States, but I agree an E63 wagon would be a better match.
I'd probably take the CTS-V wagon on the basis of looks, available manual transmission, and overall involvement.

From what I remember in the marketing brochures, it was called 'Sport Activity Vehicle' or SAV.

I think it was intoduced as a blend,I remeber when it debuted in Detroit, there was a special on MSNBC,and the commentators kept saying this BMW's version of a larger sized coupe.

They forgot to include the 2011 Kia Optima Turbo and a 1994 Honda Civic DX "VTEC POWERED BY MUGEN TYPE-R". Those cars would have made this comparison far more interesting!

"Sports Activity Coupe" is the stupidest thing I've ever heard, describing a small interior dimensioned, outwardly large and fat SUV with 5-Doors, including a Wagon hatch, and vomit inducing looks.

BMW's Marketing Dept has got to be the most ridiculous in the car world to me. :eusa_clap But hey, they're obviously masters of the spin.

Chewbacca is a wookie from planet Kysshyk. A wookie who lives on planet Endor. Does this make any sense? No. What does this have to do with their test. Nothing. Just like their test has nothing to do with their own test. Just remember, car mags just don't make sense. :D
