Hot! MINI: What's Next?

Latest news, trending discussions, reviews, and major updates
Looks like St Paul's Church and there appears to be rail sidings in the back ground which would tally with most of BMW's facilities in the north of Munich. I'm there next week, might have a look to see what I can find ;)
It seems like it was a private press event, but go have a sniff around :)

I'll be sniffing around the FIZ for sure.

Those pictures were taken here...

Just to the east of the old town in Munich centre. I'd assumed they'd be more to the north since that's where BMW campus is, but it seems not.

No instruments behind the steering wheel is idiotic, unless MINI plan on installing a heads up display. At the very minimum I want speed and battery info in front of me.
Yep Head-Up Display. But MINI’s only had minimal instruments with everything being in the centre of the dash. From Analogue and now to OLED digital.

There is HUD and literal projections on the dashboard. This car is going to be rad.

I would like to detail my Saturday in Munich for you, through photos of food.

I spent the entire day in the English garden stuffing myself.
It will be very tasty but it looks very bad in the photos, the sausage is too big or the bread is too small?

BMW revs up £500m plan to secure Mini production in Britain

The German car giant hopes to announce the investment in its plant at Cowley – which will include a £75m government grant – in several weeks’ time, Sky News learns.

All 5 MINI's I've owned have had a speedo behind the wheel.

My 1973 Clubman and 1981 Mayfair had dashboards like this.

My 2007 Clubman looked like this.

I don't look at the central cluster at all, I use voice activated carplay to change the song, radio station or call someone. If I use the nav the HUD has directions. The original BMW R50 didn't all come with a behind the wheel speedo on all models in all markets, it quickly became a popular option then I think it was fitted as standard pretty quickly.

I'm not quite sure what I'm going to say but it sounds like you like Mini's.
sausage too big ? doesn't exist. Needs more mustard. LOL
Around here that type of badly called "sausage" I suppose of the German type? We call it "Chorizo", a mixture of pork, beef and the best spices, and that is the bread we use (that same one), but size of the "sausage" is half, so that it enters the bread and we eat two

Note:

No BEVs but only ICE next gen MINI models (Cooper 3dr hatch, Cooper 5dr hatch, Cooper 2dr Convertible) will be produced in the UK.

Next Gen MINI BEVs will be made in China (Cooper E 3dr hatch & Aceman E Crossover) and Germany (Countryman E SAV).

Greetings @EnI, any outstanding news or preview about BMW in the near/medium future, the new models to confirm something we don't know?, any surprises in store, thanks in advance

BMW Blog is reporting that only the electric Countryman will be brought to the US. The Mini Cooper and Aceman will not, at least initially, due to tariffs tied to production in China. I’d be very disappointed if that is the case. What are others hearing?

Pictures have imho been taken within FIZ "Projekthaus" ... building number 19 of the FIZ complex. This is by the way also the location with the central freight elevator, where cars/prototypes get transported to the "studio", where typically the presentation to the board members takes place ...

I'm pretty sure I'm correct.

The building in the background here...

I was confused at first by the church in the background... but based the line of sight to the corner of the adjacent building, the church is st. Johann Baptist church....

obviously with the rail lines in the foreground.

And, just for the avoidance of any further doubt...

There are many locations over Munich and Globally employed by BMW AG used for visual or blue sky purpose. Whether it's a design showcase or marketing concept. These satellite locations serve as "Think Tanks" away from the corporate umbrella. A good example was Rolls-Royce setting up in a disused bank in London's financial district in the early 2000's to conceive the Phantom.

MINI

Mini (stylized as MINI) is a British automotive brand founded in 1969, owned by German BMW since 2000, and used by them for a range of small cars assembled in the United Kingdom, Austria, and the Netherlands. The word Mini has been used in car model names since 1959, and in 1969 it became a brand in its own right when the name "Mini" replaced the separate "Austin Mini" and "Morris Mini" car model names.
