:t-cheers:

Thanks!

FEP-ish, but still not quite.... When are they going to give this car eyes?

Mark my words! If this car has real charisma, the essence of Mini with a nice interior and good dynamics....it's going to kill the X1...

It would be cheaper also!

AND...'that' British / stylish looks could be just the baby Land Rover wish they had build...apart from the LRX that is...

Contryman

Eni, Scott > when will we see official pic of the contryman now that the new 5 is out ?

The MINI ........ Crossover production car will debut at Geneva in March.
Although BMW Board has now decided against "Countryman" for being "Obvious" so a new name will be selected from the expansive list we have.

Filming and Photography has begun in Austria.
Pictures online February. Teaser Mid-Late December.
Market sales Europe begin September 2010 , US sales Late 2010.
E83 X3 Production has to end as does start up of the next generation X3 in the US. Then MINI Crossover can begin serial production.
FEP should be in the next few weeks.

Now when the trademarks Countryman, MINI Cooper Countryman, and MINI Cooper One are already registered & paid for? :t-hands:

Btw, no filings for Colorado registration as of yet. And the car will be presented in few months. Not to mention Colorado trademark in automotive class is owned by Volkswagen AG at least till 31th October 2011.

:t-hands:

The name "Countryman" is far from final. There are other other options to explore and we have asked to go down this route , "Countryman" is too obvious and again with comparisons with the mini and MINI will mean a classic name for a new concept. So they are investigating the purpose of a new brand insignia instead of pulling a traditional name out of the hat.

The finished car however is something to behold and will look stunning against the more utilarian choices in this segment. The proportions are spot on and do not clash with the BMW X1 in size and market.
It's a very urban concept for the concrete jungle and with added stability for trips to the slopes, beaches etc.

Will the name it 4GO :t-hands:

Since I'm told ALL4 is to be used to trademark the MINI specific AWD system.

Or it will be vice versa now?

Regarding Colorado - it's not a trademark proposal but just an internal unofficial codename for MINI Crossover. :usa7uh:

Well try Citywoman it applies very well as thousands of cosmopolitan women will prefer this car as the perfect urban transportation:D Quite different from the Countryman which was piloted by carpenters and milkmen.

LOL! Citywoman. And only available in Pink ;)

I'm quite curious on how they are going to preserve the MINIness of this vehicle.

I'm not. The car will be instantly recogniseable as being a Mini. Like everybody knows a Cayman is a Porsche.

Mini

thanks for all those info
did the final car will be near the concept car presented 2 years ago with 5 doors? ;)

MINI

Mini (stylized as MINI) is a British automotive brand founded in 1969, owned by German BMW since 2000, and used by them for a range of small cars assembled in the United Kingdom, Austria, and the Netherlands. The word Mini has been used in car model names since 1959, and in 1969 it became a brand in its own right when the name "Mini" replaced the separate "Austin Mini" and "Morris Mini" car model names.
