MINI SAV: Spy Pics & Info

The old Mini came in so many models and variants that this conversation is just ridiculous. There was even a Mini pick-up people.

The X5 on that photo looks stunning!!! The tyres are a bit to small...but just perfect! Great colour (Sorry, Tycoon, but silver looks hot :D)!

In keeping with its naming practice of labeling all its cars with names that start with the letter C, Mini will be calling its latest model the ‘Crossman.’ The fourth model in Mini’s lineup will be a new SUV variant and will arrive on the market in 2010, according to Mini CEO Kay Segler.

Segler, who spoke recently with Auto Motor und Sport, also confirmed the new model will be manufactured in Austria by Magna International and that its production numbers could top 45,000 units. Both AWD and FWD versions are expected to be released.

Mini is set to reach record profits this year and is already seeing waiting lists pile up for its new models such the Clubman. Despite the waiting lists, Segler hopes to see sales rise to 240,000 units next year, up from an estimated 220,000 units this year.

Cabrio? :D;) j/k

Hell no! You ain't gonna see my wife playing some "bunny" ;) or something in a cabrio! No, no... 1st of all, i'm gonna drive that little thing too, so you can imagine it'll be the same color as Andreas' car (:usa7uh:) with beige Nappa leather and piano black trim...;) By the time i'll be investing in that car, i'm sure (with business this going) i'll be able to make a real rocket of this car...:t-drive: Equipped with almost everything and hopefully, with TT diesel under the hood...;)

:t-cheers:

Doing good huh Tyc :D

Great to hear this! Make sure the 123d is a coupe version, those are the best in the 1er line IMO

Spy shots give clear view of MINI SUV

Best spy shots yet of the MINI SUV – and proof that it is four-wheel-drive!

Check out the best spy shots of the year so far – the MINI SUV has finally been snapped up close.

Our spies could barely believe their luck when they managed to seek out this prototype testing in Europe. While the bodywork appears to be near-identical to a standard Clubman, there are several visual clues to this being the new rough-road MINI.

The most obvious change is the increase in ride height. This will give the MINI greater ground clearance and extra visual muscle. The large wheels sit wider in the arches than standard rims, while the wheelbase is also a little longer.

Take a look underneath the rear of the car and the purpose of this MINI becomes perfectly clear. A rear differential is visible between the wheels, proving that this model is all-wheel drive. It won’t be a true mud-plugger, but it will aim to steal sales away from Land Rover’s larger Freelander.

Expected to be revealed later this year, the rough-road MINI has been confirmed for production but bosses are yet to confirm a name. Both Crossman and Monte are said to be in the running, with prices likely to start at around £20,000.

MINI

Mini (stylized as MINI) is a British automotive brand founded in 1969, owned by German BMW since 2000, and used by them for a range of small cars assembled in the United Kingdom, Austria, and the Netherlands. The word Mini has been used in car model names since 1959, and in 1969 it became a brand in its own right when the name "Mini" replaced the separate "Austin Mini" and "Morris Mini" car model names.
