Sad news.
Last week BMW reported they named new CFO (Herr Eichner) due Mr. Ganal's illness & absence.
Few days later (late Thursday night) Mr. Ganal (54) died of terminal illness ...

PS:
Mr. Ganal came to BMW AG in 1986, and worked on various assignments. Till 1993 he was Marketing & Sales Director - Central Europe. He left BMW AG in 1993, and came back in 1996, when he became Head of BMW Motorcycle division. In 1999 he was named Director of BMW Sales & Marketing - Europe. In 2000 he was named a member of BMW AG Board of Directors as CMO (Chief of Marketing & Sales). He was a CMO till 2007 when he was named a CFO.
