3 Series Mexican 3 Series

The BMW 3 series is a line of compact executive cars manufactured by BMW since May 1975. It is the successor to the 02 series. Since 2013, coupé and convertible models have been marketed as the 4 Series. The M version of the 3 series, the M3, debuted with the E30 M3 in 1986.
Everybody in North and South America maybe.
I am not interested myself. My 3er will come from the home country :D

It's good news btw. BMW is smarter than all other car brands combined.

Don't worry guys I'm Mexican and I can assure you, if there's something we're good at is cooking spicy food and making cars, in no particular order.
I hope it's designed in Germany though, I don't think our car recipes are as good as our sauce recipes. But seriously guys, Mexico is top notch when talking about engineering and car craftsmanship, MIM Fiestas are very solid, just as good as an European Polo, and ask about Mexican VWs, or even Fender Guitars. Very well made products.

Yup, that's probably the reason why they chose for Mexico ;)

Keep it up my Mexican buddy! Love your country!

Tacos tomorrow! To celebrate!

This may sound bad but there's not a lot I can feel proud about my country, but it's my duty to spread the word about the good things haha :) Which are plenty but kind of unspoken.
Tacos are always a good idea!

I don't know where you guys live but my guess is MIM BMWs will be mainly produced for Mexico, USA and Canada because of the North American Free Trade Agreement. So maybe you will get it sold in your country or maybe you won't. Oh, and correct me if I'm wrong, but BMW's Bavarian neighbors are planning to do the same. The ones located west of München,in a town called Ingolstadt :)

Everyone ready for Mexican made 3 Series come 2019?

I don't see any reason why not. Regardless of where BMWs are made, they will always conform to a minimum standard of production quality and its great for job creation for the Mexican economy. It is a Win-Win for everybody.

And South America. Mexico has trade agreements with both Mercosur and Comunidad Andina. I had a mexican made Nissan Sentra, and build quality was as fine as the japanese ones. I also know that the mexican made Fiat 500 are better made than the european ones, too.

But of course. Copycat company, as usual...

Um, VW has been in Mexico for years. Audi coming next. And Mercedes just confirmed their partnership with Nissan for the rights to expand to their existing plant. BMW will likely be the LAST there. Even after Infiniti too. hahah

And just so you don't forget.

Audi - Founded 1909
BMW - Founded 1916

Don't forget that my blind BMW fanboy friend...

Audi is a brand created by VW marketing, my dear friend.

But oddly enough came BEFORE VW which was founded in 1937...
You just don't know much about VW/Audi, do you? Certainly not from a historical standpoint...

VW marketing has done well with you, I can see.

VW revived a completely dead and forgotten brand. Modern Audi has zero history. They stopped existing many decades ago.

Just like the Mini brand. It's new. Created by BMW. The historic link is marketing BS 101

It's not a marketing thing. It is a knowledge thing. Clearly a knowledge you don't have. I don't evaluate products based on their badge but rather what I know about the product itself. Try it some time.(y)

As far as I know there's already a BMW factory here in Mexico (Toluca), so they won't be last. I think Audi's plans to make cars here came before BMW's plans of expanding the plant they already have. So we can say neither is a copycat. Audi is going to produce here for the first time, BMW just plans to expand its already existing plant.

As for Mercosur, Gianclaudio, I also took that into account but I think there's a production plant in Brazil already so I thiught maybe it makes more sense to leave Southamerica's production/consumption in Brazil's hands.
Note that I haven't done any research guys, so I may be wrong

I'm not trying to go against you, but (as a VAG group fan/ex-fanboy) I would indeed be careful with its marketing. It's one of the most developed in the industry (maybe even evil). I do think Audi has its share of history, they gave us Quattro, we can't just forget that :)

Just don't fight over little things guys, both of you are right, and I don't want this to become one of those threads lol

Again, you just don't know their history. You are likely too young to even understand Audi's roots. And that is ok. But that just means you have everything to gain by learning about them.

Do not - I repeat - do not make this one into a BMW vs Audi thread.
