Mercedes Vision Iconic

It looks great and all, but I’m disappointed. I was waiting for something much different, an Electric S-Class preview of sorts to be specific, not a Maybach 6 facelift, smh.
New front fascia and the interior is lovely, but then again, still underwhelming. I guess my expectations were too high.

Love it. But pointless like the vision 6 and AMG gran turismo before it.

Maybach should be about those extravagant designs, not glorified MB cars. That’s how you take it to the next level. No one is doing this.

It's all a bit too Jules Verne for me. Captain Nemo ahoy!

Visually striking but ultimately a whole lot of effort wasted just to present a new grille - which we've already had an introduction to.

As an EV nobody’s gonna buy it, I can only repeat my self.

And even were it an ICE Hybrid vehicle, it remains a tepid exercise in automotive design. An unfortunate potpourri of stale, overcooked leftovers from last week's menu. "Let's toss some cavier, gold leaf, stale brioche, past due date St. Jacques scallops into the blender with yesterday's meat and potatoes and see what comes out !". Ummm...no thanks. I've already eaten.

Man, far more "pedestrian" recent automotive presentations are IMHO far more exciting. Far more..."real". The BMW ix3, the Polestar 5, the new XPeng P7 sedan, concepts such as the Audi Concept C or the VW ID. CROSS and ID.Polo, the Skoda Concept O...etc. Sure, different categories of vehicles. Yet still, the statements made are resolute, decisive.

Why make another concept of the same “car” you did years ago?

ngl very disappointed by MB i was waiting for sometbing more, quite the reality lately for Mercedes-Benz company they get you high and then they disappoint every time

Yeah but you see, they have to get their point across. "We now have a new grille too after completely f#cking everything up with the EQ cars, CLA and upcoming EV"

Well, the grille is a start. And a good one. But they have no idea about anything else but a grille. I see no vision at all.

This should have been a Concept for their bread-and-butter saloons. If they showcased an E-class sized saloon concept with this grill it would have been more interesting than another Maybach 6 type coupe that won't ever make production.

The coupe should have been shown in Sterling Moss Silver in my opinion, it would be far nicer to have a lighter colour to show the contours than this dark matt black.

Nevertheless this coupe still does look very nice, I like the profile with the short front overhang and that massive bonnet, invokes memories of past models from the 30s and 40s with their huge engine bays.

Certainly, enough space under that hood to install the secret 8.0lt V16 800SEL engine that was earmarked for the W140 but with latest tech to reduce emissions to Euro 7 requirements.

Not sure what all the doom and gloom is about. It's a concept car. Car companies have been making these types of things for decades.

Juat the usual dose of haters nothing more.

Stunning concept.

The car looks crazy i love it.

In reality we won't get something like this but would love the next S to have this Grill..

Also if they made something like this please stick a V8 minimum.

Yup, imagine giving a free opinion on a forum that does not make you look like you are on a company’s payroll.

Apparently, people who attended the presentation were told this previews details of an upcoming S-Coupe Concept…

I heard that a S-Coupe Concept should be released in the near future.

Customers who’ve been informed about that, are interested in this car If it’s a V8 or V12, that’s what I was told from my dealer.

Gorden has been blathering on about his future design direction quite frequently these days. Since his swept back EQ designs have been roundly rejected, this is previewing what many already knew was coming. Squarish, unapologetically MB faces in the future. But not so much as to alienate female buyers.

I love it. My question is, what is it showing us a preview of, if anything? It's a gorgeous car, but I want something like it put into production.

I would have literally passed out in the showroom back then if they had done a 800SEL.

The thing is they already had an S-Coupe. And it was en exquisite product. They got rid of it. So why bring it back?
