lol so much info about S-class here so I dont know if this is new or old info.

from autobild:

Mercedes Benz gave the starting signal for the strongest version to the new s-class. In S a Biturbo power station with twelve cylinders and 517 HP, which is to create the Sprint to speed 100 owing to 830 Nm torque in 4.6 seconds, is 600. The maximum speed is limited on 250 km/h, consumption indicates the manufacturer as 14,3 litres superfuel per 100 of kilometers. Proud 143,724 euro become due for the luxury projectile, but the long wheel base is standard.

Immediately Mercedes receives orders, is delivered starting from January 2006. That applies also to the second latecomer in the Stuttgart luxury class: The Diesel S 320 CDI is equipped with the proven V6-Turbo-Selbstzuender and carries 235 HP out. 540 Nm torque push it in 7.5 seconds to 100 km/h, for point likewise 250. S 320 CDI with 8,5 litres Diesel is to be content on the average. Price: 74,704 euro cost 67,048 euro with short wheel base, the long version.

517hp, 830Nm!!!!!! That alot of power and the price is far from affordable 143,724 euro is far from what I expected that the car is going to cost.

235hp for the V6 diesel? I thought it was 224hp? Did they bump up the output for the S?

Man BMW and AuDI needs to get their act together..if they want to hang with MB´s V12

thats one sweet engine. too bad its limited to 250km though, otherwise it could beat the bentley for the title of fastest production four door.

I suspect there will be a new V12 introduced come the W221 facelift. I feel like this one is starting to become long in the tooth now that Mercedes is using DOHC again.

There will be an all new V12.. but i guess like you say after the FL .. or by the time of the new SL..
Pagani will use a new AMG V12 for their supercar i heard.. maybe that V12 will be based on the new one we are talking about:D

Arent 65 AMG cars delimited..if not do that.. and im sure it will hit more than 312

can't you choose with AMG? i would have thought if you are spending like 140k then they will do what you want.....!! i dont think brabus limit theirs...lol

It will give the new M5 some headaches in straight line performance.
More than the S600 I'm looking forward to the AMG S63.

maybe but E55, CLS55, S55 owners should worry about that ;)
S600 may be fast as these but it wont be sporty and handle like them. I doubt a buyer of S600 is choosing between a E55 or M5. S600 is hardly a AMG or M even if its fast as them in straightline.

S600 is a truely classy car.. its just so fast with near no effort at all.. thats class..:D
Its very diffrent from AMG´s.. its 2 diffrent worlds..

This is exactly what I was thinking. Shall we say about 2009-10? This time it will likely be a true 6 liters and of course with turbocharging again perhaps.
