Ok I'm all spy-pic'd out now. Enough.

Time to show the finished product. We can't gleam anything else from these type or pics now.

That is so true.

My only beef with evolving on the ML look is that I've never completely liked the ML look to begin with.

However, M-B isn't just any car manufacturer, with the richest DNA in the car world, it would be a tragedy if they went the "normal" route, and introduced completely different looking cars every next cycle.

In order for them to embrace their history, and keep Premium brand recognition going, they need to evolve on their DNA and winning products. This is what separates them from the rest.

BTW, is this gonna be a '12MY or '13MY in the U.S?

Wow, very different from the German made ones. They debut a year or more in advance, then we get them later.

IMO that's the way it should be with Benz. I'm not a fan of Benzes made in America so much (same reason that I'm not a fan of Chevy's made in Mexico or Canada), but I guess it's inevitable.

I'm liking the shape.

For a salesperson the ML has always been an enigma. Not soft enough or price conscious enough to capture the Lexus RX market.

Not rugged enough to capture Range Rover Sport market.

Not sporty enough to capture the X5, Cayenne, and FX market.

Shape wise, I see a car that I actually could see someone considering the Range Rover sport chosing. Especially in the sport trim.
Actually looks like someone blended the ML, RR Sport, and original X5.
The content, materials and drive quality are going to have to be judged in the flesh.

You answered your own question? It's supposed to be a multi-purpose vehicle. ;)

MERCEDES-BENZ TO PRODUCE ALL ACTIVITY VEHICLE

Defines New Market Segment

TUSCALOOSA, Ala., May 2, 1994 /PRNewswire/ -- Mercedes-Benz will produce an all activity vehicle at its new
manufacturing facility here beginning in 1997, according to company officials who met today with journalists in
town for tomorrow's groundbreaking ceremony for the plant.

With this vehicle -- which combines four-wheel-drive technology with on-road capabilities -- Mercedes-Benz is
defining a new market segment, tailor-made for the active lifestyle. "An owner would feel equally comfortable
driving the all activity vehicle to the symphony, a ski resort or to transport his or her family," said Andreas Renschler.

I like this ML, but whenever I see a picture from the rear I cannot help but notice that it looks a lot like a GL in terms of how it is evolving. I think it might be bigger than the current ML, which if true makes me wonder if the GL will be a tad bit bigger?

^^ The difference between ML and GL is big enough, the ML can grow a bit without affecting the GL..

This will be a very good looking SUV. A great evolution over the previous two models.

From how I take it, it appears that the 2012 ML will debut on June 9, almost a month from now.

Scroll down to the comments section: Markus Jordan is a writer for MB passion. Their info is almost always accurate. If Google translate is correct, we will see the ML by June 9.

It's more easy to make a comparison between the new ML and the GL with this vid. As we can see, the new ML still looks tall (for me it looks (almost) as tall as the GL).
