Mercedes F700 Concept Luxury Sedan @ Frankfurt Auto Show

Re: Frankfurt Preview: Mercedes to unveil F700 luxury sedan

So early, when W211 is still in production? :t-hands:

I don't think so.

It is strange indeed the car is covered: especially when S 300 Bluetec Hybrid is presented without any cover.

:eusa_thin

The E 300 Bluetec Hybrid is not expected before 2010.. ;)

Re: Frankfurt Preview: Mercedes to unveil F700 luxury sedan

hmm if this is the new E concept..then GODDAMN..
but i dont think thats the case

PS
the C63 is not in that shot..cause there are only hybrids in there
and the AMG is far from that:D..haha

wow i am soo late to the party, i LOVE that grill, very authoritative.

Re: Frankfurt Preview: Mercedes to unveil F700 luxury sedan

yeah, it does have that american feel to it. I don't know yet, wanna see the entire product before judging it :eusa_thin

Re: Frankfurt Preview: Mercedes to unveil F700 luxury sedan

According to Welt.de, the E300 Bluetec-hybrid is under a black cover....
...because it is the all-new 2009/2010 E-Class! It will make a short appearance, of course under camo, but maybe less camo than usual? Otherwise why showing it at the IAA? :D

Wait and see, but I don't understand why they show the 2009/2010 version so soon! Even if I'm happy to have a look at it, hoping it will be more or less naked...At least oly under light camo, inside as outside. ;)

Re: Frankfurt Preview: Mercedes to unveil F700 luxury sedan

^wow so they are really showing the new one..
they did the same thing with the W221.. it was shown under heavy camo on some car show.. way before release..

cant wait to analyze it:D

Yeah it -like almost all new MBs- has a very American taste, which is sad in my opinion.

Re: Frankfurt Preview: Mercedes to unveil F700 luxury sedan

Well, I agree that this bit of F700 really looks like a Cad' Sixteen.

But the new Mercedes are not American-looking, on the contrary they are back to the core-Benz values, and looks very German, very "old-school Benz" in my opinion. The new C-Class has strong 190-accents, the interior of the new E-Class has some W124 inspiration...

Re: Frankfurt Preview: Mercedes to unveil F700 luxury sedan

Could be the real deal. Sharp lines, giant wheelbase, no rear overhang...

The interior will be like that too (there was a video of the construction of the the F700 on a German site, I saw, no details but views of the very special seats and general view of the dashboard) and the central structure of the car.

Re: Frankfurt Preview: Mercedes to unveil F700 luxury sedan

It's NOT a chop! I repeat.. It's NOT a chop!

Re: Frankfurt Preview: Mercedes to unveil F700 luxury sedan

Ugly but an F concept was never meant to be beautiful.

Re: Frankfurt Preview: Mercedes to unveil F700 luxury sedan

I don't think it's ugly.. I think I like it:D
gotta be quite prestigoues IRL. I'll have to save my full opinion for next week when I see it myself.

Re: Frankfurt Preview: Mercedes to unveil F700 luxury sedan

The front looks good but the shot of the view and the interior look terrible. Will probably hold on with my verbal whip until I have seen more shots.

Re: Frankfurt Preview: Mercedes to unveil F700 luxury sedan

Mind that F Concept cars are not previews of upcoming models - like eg. CGT Vision, or CLS Vision, or Ocean Drive Concept did.

F Conceps usually showcase upcoming tech, and perhaps some particular design cue - mostly design details (eg grille, headlight or rearlight cluster design etc).
