Hate it tho when that guy says at the end "Finally caught up", seriously on a track the R8 would most prob be quicker

Nevertheless I would like to get one of these Wagons!! Probably would prefer the AMG over the Audi, because I'm fan of the E-Class design. But you all know me…give me the Sedan version, and I would be the happiest man alive…pure elegance in combination with speed, power and comfort…

I've driven the E63 and yes its fast in straightline but not a very entertaining car. I haven't tried the R8 but its a real sportscars so it should be an very involving car to drive. If I want a fast straightliner give me a tuned Toyota Supra

Whats amazing about the E63 Estate is that it`s faster than E63 sedan because of the slight rear weight bias I believe.

It`s even faster than the CLK63 BS, faster than the SL63 without the LC on.

I think I remember one test where the E63 Estate beat the M5 Estate on the track not too long ago....


If the next E-Estate gets 570hp from what the predictions are saying, it will be one of the fastest cars out there!!

on our m5board.com meetings the E63 havent been close to the SL65. I think we also had a test between E63 and normal CLK63 and the E63 lost. We also had test were the E55 beat the E63.

I dont think there been a direct head to head comparison yet. Its pointless to compare times with another test done at a different time. There are different factors involved when meassuring acceleration.

I can confirm its true. I think it was the german Autobild with a grouptest with different Estate cars involved. The M5 T had the worst laptime of all the tested cars. Something must been wrong since there are many other tracktimes where the M5 been faster than the E63. But I guess sometimes there are exceptions

German Autobild have tested them before and then M5 Touring was quicker:

E63: 1:36,57 min
M5T: 1:34,81 min
RS6: 1:34,00 min

80-120 km/h
RS6: 2,7 s
M5: 2,5 s
E63: 2,7 s

0-200 km/h
RS6: 14,3 s
M5:14,7 s
E64: 15,1 s

0-100 km/h
RS6: 4,4 s
M5: 4,9 s
E63: 4,4 s

EDIT: I tried to find the test GTA was talking about but I cant find it. Maybe it isnt correct then. I will continue searching for it.


EDIT: here is the test. Again , its Autobild who did the test. funny they have two different conclusions

1. 1:50,81 min - Audi RS6 Avant
2. 1:51,83 min - Alpina B5 S Touring
3. 1:53,63 min - Mercedes E63 AMG T
4. 1:55,89 min - BMW M5 Touring

Even the Alpina beat the M5 T. Weird, M5 is a better handler than the Alpina for sure. Something must been wrong with this particulary M5 T
