:t-cheers::t-cheers:

IMO all three look good, but for me personally the rear 3/4 of the A7 remains an eye sore, which is a shame because the rest of the car is quite ok!

What's good, though, is that all three are distinctively different from each other.
And what's also interesting to note is the fact that NONE of these cars looks like a coupe.

The Benz looks the worse though, very toadish look. I saw one yesterday and I dont like it. In fact its one of the ugliest Benzes in a long time.

A7 is beautiful and timeless and I havent seen 6er Coupe yet but looks good in pictures. Its between A7 and 6er CG but for now I vote for Audi A7.

I was waiting so much for this poll. I agree with Klier, all of this are looking good, very good, but the 3rd place is for sure the audi for me. I don`t like how the roof goes down on back, makes the car looking like"Quasimodo". Bmw is looking very agressive and I like the rear very very much. I was missing such an agressive rear so much. But, the front is not so good, I don`t know to find something that really bothers me but I just can`t give him 10, although it`s looking so agressive. The Cls is my vote it`s looking gorgeous, for me it`s the most beautiful car in the world, it`s looking perfect from every single angle, and has a staggering interior, very luxurious and classic, it`s just my type of car.

And what's also interesting to note is the fact that NONE of these cars looks like a coupe.

Why would they? They're not coupes, despite what ridiculous name the manufacturers use for their "niche".

In those pictures, the 6 Series GC has the best interior, but seeing as it's an Individual interior, with alcantara headlining, special colours, I wouldn't expect anything different.

Very hard to choose between them. I like the front of the A7 best, and the rear of the A7 best, but I don't like how the rear three-quarter angle looks.

Bloody difficult to decide which actually looks better because each has their pros and cons.

Audi A7
Pros: immeasurably better in the tin than in photos; clean surfacing; good proportions; rear haunches; distinctive frontal DRG
Cons: fastback body style

BMW 6er GC
Pros: sleek profile; handsome cab-backward proportions; good silhouette
Cons: lacks distinctiveness; headlight shape amorphous; missing the sinister demeanor of its concept forebear

Mercedes Benz CLS
Pros: still the closest thing to a coupe here; great roofline; coupe-esque DLO
Cons: Lacks the simple elegance of its predecessor; fussy styling details; less coupe-like than its groundbreaking ancestor

I'm going to vote for the A7 for it having the bravest design.

Audi is a hatchback i hate the hatch look..

The BMW is a lazy attempt..its like the Aston Rapide.. i hate that car..

The CLS is what started this segment, and is still today the most 4door coupe looking of them all, and still the most unique car, within and outside the brand of Mercedes Benz..

So in my eyes you can not compare something designed from the scratch up as a new design, to a old design with 2 extra doors.. its insulting!!!

Artist, what on earth are you babbling about this time with 'old' design?

I can bet you you haven't even seen a 6er coupe on the road, it's that NEW ;)

^Old as in seen before.. god!!!

And yes ive seen 1 or 2.. its not exactly a hot seller..

As are all expensive BMW's.. they kind of have issues shifting cars that start to cost over 100K euro.. ;)

Why would they? They're not coupes, despite what ridiculous name the manufacturers use for their "niche".

My thoughts exactly. I can't wait until this stupid "4-Door Coupe" fad becomes passe. These are simply SEDANS with low rooflines, limited headroom, and frameless windows, NOT Coupes!

As for these 3, I'm oddly underwhelmed by all of them. I'd be much more optimistic about a debate/poll about the more "normal" E/5/A6, or 7/S/A8. Even though this segment is supposed to be purely "passion", these cars just look somewhat confused to me. Halfway gorgeous and halfway flawed.

All these cars have tons of beauty to them, and all have their perks which are well documented, so I'll state my cons:

CLS: Messy design, nonsensical lines and lacks the effortless grace of the others, or its forefather. I can't fully get on board. It did however invent this "Segment", and it'll always have that to tout. I think that it's both the most stunning/striking and hideous of the 3 ("hideous" is a purposeful exaggeration to get the point across), also, it's the most unique.

A7: Nice, simple, however, lacks a bit of flavor to me, and the rear is a total dealbreaker.

6 GC: Looks like BMW didn't put much passion into it, you can see the Marketing/Boardroom meeting to "get this out there to get some Market Share in this growing segment" written all over the car IMO. Nice, and maybe the most cohesive of the 3 (certainly more than the CLS), but doesn't inspire me or make me want to spend money on it.

I guess since I don't have a favorite amongst these cars, I can't really put my Vote in yet. However, I will say this: If I had to buy any of these, the ONLY one I could is the 6GC, as the CLS let me down by not even giving me a chance to fall in love with it and want it, due to the TERRIBLE USE OF SPACE by M-B engineers. It's a huge car but has as much Frontal Headroom as a Ferrari 360 Modena. It actually has LESS Frontal Headroom than a VW CC, how is that?? The A7 also is too cramped for me up front (I'm 6'4).

Judging by the GC's dimensions chart, it looks like it has very generous Frontal Headroom, so it's the only car that I can truly have. So, I guess, due to BMW's engineers beating out M-B's engineers in the functional department, and thinking of us "tall people" (I'm about the average NBA Point Guards height.... M-B can't make a 4,000 lb, large 4-Door accommodate me?), I should go Vote for the BMW....

At this point, I find the A7 the most appealing. The rear 3/4 view may be a little odd, but I sort of like it in the way that the Z3 coupe "breadvan" was a little odd. And nicely functional with its hatchback layout, another plus for the A7. I also like its clean lines, relative lack of styling fuss which I see in both the Merc and BMW. The 6er GC seems a bit superfluous to me anyway (these bigger BMW sedans are really looking all the same to me), though from the side profile it seems the most elegant of the three.

.... Actually, if I was to vote for one specific "4-Door Coupe" to have the crown, it would be the original CLS. It defined this segment, it is this segment, it created this segment, and it's still the most honest and well executed interpretation of it, IMO. It certainly also has its flaws, but IMO it's the most pure example of what this "segment" embodies: Crap functionality, pure form.

Have to do something about the craptastic photos posted in this thread:

Guess, you`re not thinking at the ones posted by me. You refer at the ones posted on that damn beemers fan blog, right ? Anyway, IMO the CLS looks the best from any angle. Plus the cls had 2 personalities: one with the one bar grille looks more sporty with the AMG package, or you can have one that looks very beautiful, that`s looking like a sculpture I mean the one with 2 bars on grille, non-amg package. CLS is pure BEAUTY.
