Hot! Mercedes-Benz, What's Next?

Latest news, trending discussions, reviews, and major updates
IMO, shouldn't Mercedes AMG focus on the C-Class 63 / E-Class 63 sedans?,Those are the ones that really matter in terms of volume and profits and they don't even exist anymore! (I haven't seen any prototypes yet).
The C53 will play that part until they fogure out how to fit this new V8 in the Facelifted version.

& The E63 is coming in 2027 as a facelift by the way😉

Right. All the people I see driving around here with one are crazy. Got it.
All the people? As you know, I’m Dutch as well and spend more than 3 hours a day on Dutch roads. I’ve never seen one in NL. Besides, strip away the Dutch fiscal EV subsidies, or penalties for ICE, and the electric G-class quickly becomes less than a fringe phenomenon.

All the people?

Yeah. All the people
I don't know where you're from, but I don't think it's the Randstad. Fairly sure with such a comment. Your anecdote is without meaning.

De elektrische G-klasse wereldwijd een ‘complete flop’, behalve in Nederland (en dat is logisch)

2025 was the best year in the history of the G class in The Netherlands. Why? But of course you can guess that now....

I guess the next step to make it globally more acceptable is putting the hybrid M256 6 cylinder in it.

Coolest shit ever. That Mythos CLE has some big shoes to fill.

Damn you recon this will be a $250k CLE? & the GT Tracksport maybe around $300k+ mark?💔
Unlikely.

The last mythos wasnt a sales success even with its limited numbers. I know of AMG GTR pro owners who were offered build slots last summer.

The mythos branding is confusing me. I was thinking it was going to be over and above maybach, but a CLE isnt a maybach style product.

We need to ask/research more about this ‘MYTHOS’ brand🤔

I am clear on what the Mythos Series is. It is less what Maybach is and more of what Black Series was. A "Legends" trim that transcends model lines, from CLE to a Maybach S680, to a future SLR. I don't think they will have a custom-bodied model anytime soon, or ever. That is something even an actual sub-brand like Maybach failed in the past, and Mercedes accountants aren't going to let that happen again.

I hope hope - and think - that the V8 CLE is not just going to be a Mythos-only affair. I am a hopeful potential owner for a regular CLE 63. I hope the "regular" AMG V8 has some of the extra hips shown in these pictures.

Sales success? They were only limiting it to 250 units, which are all sold. I’m unsurprised AMG GTR Pro owners weren’t particularly interested, it was a bit of a poseur car. Nothing about the drivetrain or suspension setup was more hard core than the standard SL.

The Mythos isn’t above Maybach necessarily, the sub brand is just about small batches of special edition versions of current product. They aren’t going to create entirely bespoke versions of their cars like Rolls Royce and Ferrari, so they have this instead.

Fingers crossed they get this right. It could be a huge new segment in the USA. The ride, interior, engines, EV tech and most of all engineer out that the horrible cheap sound that cargo van doors make when you slam them.

Yes, the special editions are iconic, beautiful, and all, but it seems their priorities are misplaced.
What makes you think they can't do all of this? It's called multi-tasking and marketing. My god man they do it all the time and have multiple cars launches coming up including the C-Class FL which replace both the C43 and C63 with an I6 and a V8 E63 is coming also, it's been confirmed already and doesn't matter what you haven't seen yet. Car development is advancing and doesn't always mean seeing years of road going prototypes anymore. I have never seen such a whining group of people who act brand new or like the sky is falling every single time Mercedes does something. You all act like that if they launch this CLE63 Mythos that a regular CLE63 can't be slotted under it, both will have the new V8. This is likely the coming out party for the AMG version of the new V8. What better way to sell more of the standard CLE63 V8 than by introducing a halo model with the same engine? I think this instant, knee jerk doom/mistake viewpoint is misplaced and warped.
