Mans is out here glazing an 8 series with a bodykit, even the Maybach SL680 is a better deal than thatThe redesigned 8 Series is absolutely crazy, yes.
Since we’re talking bodykits, BRABUS sells an SL63 Clownshoe for $1million. And guess what? it’s selling, case closed$500,000 per crazy piece, remind me which Mercedes they're selling for that price these days....
Another example of madness. Why did Mercedes bother designing an AMG One?Mans is out here glazing an 8 series with a bodykit, even the Maybach SL680 is a better deal than that![]()
That's false. You insist on lying. You don't have the official figures; provide them. Sales are more even between the two than ever before in 2025, since the S-Class lost between 30% and 40% of its sales in 2024 and 2025.The S-Class sells twice as much as the 7 Series. Mercedes is the undisputed leader in the upper segment. There's no room for debate.
It's selling, how many? 2 units? Please back up your claims with real figures, don't just sell smoke.Since we’re talking bodykits, BRABUS sells an SL63 Clownshoe for $1million. And guess what? it’s selling, case closed.

And don't even mention that horrible Brabus clown shoe, it'll give me nightmares.

Bruh. Not too long ago they were selling the AMG GT Black Series starting at like $350,000. Selling cars in that price bracket isn't an alien concept to them. They've been doing it for decades. The SLR. The SLS Black Series. The original 300SL.$500,000 per crazy piece, remind me which Mercedes they're selling for that price these days....
The ChatGPT user is officially mad at meWhy? Your source is your neighbor?
No, you're saying it sells twice as much, and that's not only untrue, it's far from the truth.Your attempt to find joy in the sales losses of a 6-year-old S-Class summarizes your pathetic situation.
Refer to the official reports for further investigation; you'll find the figures there. Don't sell smokeThe ChatGPT user is officially mad at me.
The 7 doesn’t sell for G or Maybach prices tho. Skytop is a one off not a series production model. Not remotely the same thing. Anyone can sell a handful of cars at that price in the luxury space. That's true. Regarding the 850i, I think it was because IMO its competitor, the R129 SL, was better in every aspect and stole the entire market share. I never understood why the Z8 didn't sell more, nor did the M1 or the 507, despite that, years and good hard work build prestige, and I think BMW is in a much better position today to do crazy things, as the Skytop / Speedtop demonstrated.
I don't know if it's the wrong product, because the top versions of the 7 series sell without problems at similar prices.
I completely agree. Mercedes has always done it and I have no doubt they will continue to do so, but as you say, something has been lost and they no longer sell whatever they want; just look at the failure of the Mithos. Today, it has to be the right product. The SLRs and SLSs are missed.Bruh. Not too long ago they were selling the AMG GT Black Series starting at like $350,000. Mercedes has lost a lot of their shine due to strategic missteps. Particularly in the mainstream volume markets.
However, that hasn't stopped them from making quite compelling products at the very high end.
BMW hasn't, but mainly because they've never committed to it. Not since the the M1.
I guess Rolls Royce is a thing, but there's no BMW badge on a Roller.
What are you talking about? We just went over this. BMW doesn’t get Maybach or G prices for anything they sell. That was the case a few decades ago, but it hasn't been for a long time.
Why did Mythos fail? We can debate its design, but if people are lining up to buy it, that's a success.I completely agree.
