C-Class W204 Mercedes-Benz W204 C-Class Product Update/Facelift (Spy pics & info)

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W204) is the third generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. It was manufactured and marketed by Mercedes-Benz in sedan/saloon (2007–2014), station wagon/estate (2008–2014) and coupé (2011–2015) bodystyles, with styling by Karlheinz Bauer and Peter Pfeiffer. The C-Class was available in rear- or all-wheel drive, the latter marketed as 4MATIC. The W204 platform was also used for the E-Class Coupé (C207).
Hi Centurion,
Very good point, since carmakers try to increase the price of their car every MY by adding more features as standard ( which could be last year's option) the car price is eventually higher to a point it will turn away a potential customer. Let's say the base price of the C when it came out in 08MY was $30K and the 2011MY base price could start about $38K then I think it would be a bit much. That's why MB wants to move the C production to the US from Germany.

I still don't see any sign of "real update" for the 2011 MY beside the LED DRL and new engines introduction. I guess we have to wait for the brand new C in late 2013.Remember, the new 3er probably won't be in the U.S until mid 2012 or late 2011 at the earliest. Of course, both MB and BMW will change their schedules with the change of the car business ( sale numbers).

A real update is what the car is getting for 2011, what you're wanting is a total re-design. Yes that will be later.

Little update for the W204 AMG as well. Will get E 63 AMG steering wheel and instruments and new grille (SL Style):

According to jesmb. the W204 will also get Distronic Plus, high beam assistant etc…

I understand the difference between update and redesign. What I think is the exterior won't be much different from the current one except some new lamps (whatever you can think of).The interior won't be much different. Of course, I'd be thrilled if they do because I will be buying during that time frame. They'd make more features to become standard so they can increase the price. It's hard to imagine how they improve the look of the already good looking car.We all love to see it happens.

jesmb also said that the pictured interior is the old one...that the C63 will get a revised interior...

Hopefully the rumored one with fixed screen. The pop up one is basicly what ruins an otherwise pefect car. I will be very happy if the really changed that....

I hope so too. And put the cover for the cup holder place in the center console just the the EU model.

As far as the exterior goes, expect the front end to get a new lower bumper, similar to the ones that will be shown on the CLS, R, S-Coupe, and currently shown on the E. LED DRLs will of course be on the FL. Rear will probabbly not change much. As far as the interior goes, there have been reports that the C will get a GLK like interior, with a big slab of wood on the passenger side of the dash. The C may also loose the flip up navigation system, in favor for a fixed screen, similar to the GLK and E.
:t-cheers:

I hope you are right.

I don't mind the pop up screen, but it doesn't seem right to have all MB models with the fixed screen and have the C with the pop up...

I do mind it. The C has everything right, but the only cool thing about the pop up screen is the way it opens. The big plastic piece of console when the screen is off isn't too hot either.
I would honestly say so if I didn't, but the only pop up screen I remotely like is the one in the new Z4. You guys will think I say so because I'm a Bimmer fanboy and blah blah blah, but the pop up in the 1er (before it got a normal one) and X3 are quite horrible too (much worse than the C in fact)

If they fix this, I'm sure I will like the LCI (design only) of the W204 more than the LCI of E90.

The nav screen will change, the stripe on the passenger side too, it should have a proper wood/alu stripe, ala E-Class or GLK, and the steering wheel should be different too. The one on the current C looks rachitic, the E one is much nicer. Also the dials will change the 3 dials for 5 instead, ala E and E Coupe.

With theese changes the interior of the C-Class will be interesting enough to stay a few years more on the market, mind the F30 3er is comming, and given the current BMW interior design, it should have a very very nice interior too.

Guys,
I love the C because of the look. The interior look could be better, but MB probably won't do much to make it REAL nice because it could raise the cost .If the new 3er comes out better in and out, then the 2014 C will be the answer. For now, MB will just do some refresh to keep it interesting and the key thing is the new and update engines. I keep hearing how wonderful the 3er is the current and probably the upcoming one. I guess , people love BMW engines and its performance. I love to try/own one too, but, my money would go to the C, again with the exterior design.

You're quite right, but changing the upper dash with a fixed screen might even be cheaper in the long run than another 2 million (or whatever amount W204 LCI they will make) pup up mechanics....
