This is a big improvement from a practical level. You can now charge your phone and still have access to it, without having to open the console cover, which wrecks the flow of the interior. Having it trimmed in a proper timber is also great.

I hope they've improved the quality of the spring mechanisms in the cupholders, to go along with the nicer lighting and chrome detailing.

Don't care for the illuminated grille outline nor do I like how the star hood ornament is illuminated. I'd prefer if the star was lit up from the bottom the way R-R highlights the Spirit of Ecstasy.

Ergonomics have also improved thanks to a new center console. The twin wireless phone chargers are now located just below the center screen, where they’re much easier to access than when they were under the armrest. The chargers are cooled, which is great, and leather-wrapped with contrast stitching, which is a little ridiculous.

This type of detailing but not the black plastic on the doors that everyone hates?

Biggest gripe with this FL so far is the fact they couldn't be bothered addressing one of the main issues of the current car. How costly would it have been for them to reshape the panel of buttons on the doors and change the material?

This is absolute stupidity IMO. The shape of the original black panel looks completely incongruous with the new wood trim behind. If they are so worried about costs, they should have simplified the whole set up and set the buttons directly into a timber trim piece.

Unfortunately and arguably the money went into the guts of the car. It now has all types of computers in place for future autonomous driving etc and of course the engines revisions.

There used to be a W220 S55 in my neighborhood, black on black. Nothing fancy but even after all this time, looked purposeful and elegant. Gosh I miss that era of car.

Totally understand, but considering most W222 owners had issue with the gloss black crap they've been using across the range since 2014, it should have been banished or re-designed/re-imagined.

The wheel we all loved wasn't on the configurator, at least I didn't see it.
Also that brown interior is stoff, so no cashmere or silk happening, which is kinda odd for a car in this segment. Not so many wheel designs as well, just a new AMG design in different colors and one 19'' directly from the E-Class. Exterior and interior options are lovely, so much to choose from.
I would say overall it looks fine, but very spec sensitive. With all the blacked out elements it looks very odd. Dark exterior with chrome bits is the way to go, and as for the interior...big no from me. Especially those thick ass bezels are killing me.

The interior, particularly the dashboard, is a bit underwhelming.
Mercedes actually did a better job with the GLC EV. With the full screen on the GLC EV, you get a nice piece of wood trim on the bottom of the screen with a handsome-looking set of supply vents. On top of that, the GLC doesn`t have those outdated-looking separate bezels. The GLC comes across as a more finished product. I would have gone "W222 new-retro" and placed 4 circular supply vents, a full screen, and a wooden panel at the bottom of the dash on this S-Class facelift. These changes would have eliminated the floating-dash feature, of course, but it would have elevated the presentation IMO.

So I don’t come to the forum often these days. But can someone let me know : did they give up on moderating ? Back in the days people got banned for farting in the wrong musical note. So far this thread has been a shit show , you feel like you walked into a kennel with rabid dogs. Not a moderator in sight.

Is it free for all ? Please tell me cause I got some shit I need to say 😂

if only it weren’t for those bezels? This interior would’ve been just fine in my opinion🧐
