S-Class (W223/V223/Z223) Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W223) Facelift

Added to Calendar: 01-29-26

The Mercedes-Benz W223 is the seventh generation of the S‑Class full-size luxury sedan, produced by Mercedes-Benz since 2020. It replaces the W222 S‑Class which had been produced since 2013. Body Styles: W223 (standard), V223 (long), Z223 (limousine, Mercedes-Maybach). Production: 2020- Model years: 2021-
Oh my god, they've completely removed the wood from the interior and put in screens – a massive cost-cutting move. The interior is exactly the same as the E-Class. It's a huge step backward in terms of interior design, but it doesn't matter because Mercedes fanboys will like it anyway, and then they'll come and talk about BMW's cost-cutting in lower segments.
Aren’t you tired?

Pre-facelift for me. No?
For you perhaps. I think the facelift looks a lot more substantial, and is much better for it.

Just copying the E-class layout is a bummer, but we've known this for the last 12 months, so I don't understand why people are so shocked and angry. As long as the build quality is good, it shouldn't matter.
Having a nice design is great, but if it feels cheap, what's the point. That was the biggest problem with the W213.

I still maintain though, that the W222 had a better interior layout. It was so good, everyone else copied it.

Why does it bother you that I freely express my opinions? I'm not going to stop writing just because fanboys are bothered. Why does it bother you that the facelift fell short of expectations and that I'm pointing it out?
Brother, you were the only one in here talking about BMW....

In an era where we have almost invisible bezels on every screen on every device/car/toilet seat....

Heck , Porsche does curved screens ...

Yet , MB , decided to make it 50% bezel....And I am not exaggerating

All this years of development , and "new MB.OS" , and still not enough to put a damn W223 3D model inside for the presentation of the new "Sonderklasse"

In Mercedes' flagship model, the S-Class, the interior is the same as the E-Class, with screens instead of luxurious-looking wood panels. Why does it bother you that this is criticized?

I gave the BMW example for this reason: while cost cuts in the X3 received a lot of criticism (rightfully so), isn't reducing the wood panels in the S-Class also a cost cut?

I'm not complaining about it being criticised.
The S class is also being criticised in this thread. By Mercedes fans no less. Relax.

Like I said, I still think the W222 had a better interior design.

Looks like most of the facelift budget was spent on electromechanicals and drivetrain.
All the engines have received technical updates and performance improvements.

S Guard has a V12 which is very surprsing.

Exactly. W222 was ahead of its time.
