Hopefully the W224 gets heavily influenced by the Vision Iconic’s design, that thing is a batmobile😈.
I heard in the past work on the next S Class starts when a current model is launched. I bet we start seeing mules 2027 at the latest.

But… wasn’t there talk about a second facelift for the current model around 2029?

Funny how some of you keep defending MB , yet , between lines , we get some "yea , they could have used less plastic" , "yea , quality could have been better" , up to the point that we have right now "yea , they could have made the FL W223 better , but they did not , but it's still MB , so it's great"

Boys , we have come far from "The best or nothing" .

My point is simple : I am not a MB hater . I am a MB leadership hater. I don't like Ola . I miss Dr. Z.

That's all

Dr. Z had made many bad decisions. The Citan, the X-Class, the partnerships with Renault...the W222 was one of the good exceptions. Cars like the W205 and W213 had quality problems.

The S-Class has always been the most special car for Mercedes, bringing significant innovations with each generation and becoming even more refined and higher-quality over time. However, the W223 was never a truly special car.

It felt just like a facelifted version of the W222. Even in the interior, there wasn’t a major leap forward. On the contrary, the build and material quality deteriorated significantly. It was filled with trim rattles and cheap plastic parts. Mercedes could have addressed the criticisms from the facelift by making a big step forward, but instead, they chose not to and opted for cost-cutting measures.

Maybe because I've been suckered into thinking that because it's Rolls-Royce, that they've really mastered how to make an illuminated grille appealing. Everyone else, whether it's BMW or Merc, these illuminated grilles have all the class of a Nevadan bunnyranch neon sign saying they are open for business....not that I'd frequent such a place.

Of course he did . But the good ones were faaaar more than the bad ones

W205 had it's flaws , but it was great design , and had great engines .

The best engine ( IMO ) in MB history , was build in Dr. Z's era (4.0 V8).

W205 with M177 was great . W206 with M139 was the biggest mistake in MB history.

It was never the Best or Nothing,

Perhaps Dr. Peter Zetsche's foremost attribute was his likeability. Although he had his critics among those who thought that he was "trying too hard to be "cool"". All in all, he had a better hand at guiding M-B than the present CEO. In addition, Dr. Zetsche inherited some hot messes created during the Schrempp era-during which he also had seats on the board.
