My dearly missed dad was 6'5 tall and 265 pounds and suffered of severe backache to the point that a doctor told that he would have to take painkillers for the rest of his life. According to dad, it was much easier to ingress and egress out of an SUV than doing the same in a sedan. That's why he switched from sedans to pickups and SUVs when he was already 45 years old He had spent 22 years working as logging technician at oil rigs and another 16 years working as Blaster on lad. Both of these jobs are back breaking chores. He developed chronic backache and climbing down into a car because too much hurdle for him. I remember him being hospitalized for ten days due to chronic backache back in 2007 when had turned 50. He retired at 58 and never again he bought another sedan or "passenger car" for that matter.
I feel for him but that height is no where near typical.

I don’t think I prefer SUVs because of the false sense of security..

My primary reason is that they have more ground clearance and thus better daily drivers on worsening roads.

Secondly, new cars sit lower than before with more aero etc. This makes them prone to more damage when driven daily. My OCD cannot take that punishment.. 😂😂
That’s what the research says, of course individuals will vary.

That also contributed to the W140's ungainly greenhouse. The W140 was originally supposed to have a lower roofline. I'm OK with the compromise on the W223. I've never seen someone get close to banging their head on the door opening.

No, it never supposed - only BrunoSacco wanted it lower, but the board never aproved it.
My dad for example always has problems to get in and out in my W221 in the back (the W223 has less space for the head when entering) ...in my ex W140 never.

It just means you're getting old and every car will be more difficult for you to get in and out of. Much ado about nothing.

You dont understand.
You can get much easier in the rear in the W140, then in the W223. The W223 is not driven by 18 year old atleths, but most of all older politicans, ceo's etc. and yes its more dificult to get in then it was to get in the W140. Its a shame, form before practicality

I do understand that I don’t have a problem getting on and out of a W223. Unless you want a car to look like a brick then that’s what you’re gonna get in 2025. IMO it’s a personal problem, not a design flaw. As you age everything gets harder.

Only my heels are getting harder

@Jacke it will have stars front and rear and the interior will be similar to the class and, to see a completely revolutionized car we will have to wait until 2030

New Render of the 2026 S-Klass

I am not sure I like the headlight shape in that render but it could be close to real. The grill is going to be massive.

To my eyes driver display is at different angle (more upright?) than central display - hence this seems more as a Superscreen rather than Hyperscreen. Nice to see physical buttons on the steering wheel. With the Superscreen in the E you can skip it and get more trim around the start/stop button and on the left from the steering wheel, as well as in front of the passenger. There seems to be additional buttons under the central display too

I really hope Merc is going back to the one glass double displays both on landscape like the W222 or how Audi A5/A6 is doing. Even the entry level Merc Cla has it
