Personally, I have problems with the W223 in general.
I think it's the weakest design of all S-classes so far (we've been driving them at home since 1973, so W108, W116, W126, W140, W220, W221).
For me, the W140 is the bossiest S-class, the W220 has the most beautiful cockpit. The W222 is the most perfect S-class in terms of design, especially as a MOPF with the beautiful ''stardust'' graphics at the back - simply superb. My W221 is also a very nice car to me, especially with the AMG package and bulging fenders, it almost looks like a widebody. Also the rear, which slightly resembles a Maybach. I think it will be a nice future classic.
The W223, first of all, doesn't have that 'bossy' presence. The headlights are too narrow and you can easily mistake the car for an E or even a C class from afar. As Dr. Storp (father of most of the newer S-classes) said, "With the W140, the company's ramp rose by itself, because it was known that the boss had arrived."
The biggest mistake is definitely the rear headlights. Gorden Wagener himself said in Canada at the presentation of the W222, "we are the only ones in this segment who have a rear headlight made of one piece - all the other competitors have it made of two pieces." And what does this same Wagener do with the W223? He makes two-piece headlights for it, where the factory is so incompetent that they can't assemble them so that they are horizontal with the chrome strip, which is a shame.
Now you have the rear part practically the same on the W206, W214, W223 - now that the W223 also gets stars in the graphics and certainly the W206, you won't even be able to tell them apart anymore. The interior is the biggest disappointment, first of all in terms of design, as it has 2 identical screens, like the W206, which should never happen for such an expensive car, and above all there is a lot of plastic, cheap plastic, plastic that cracks when touched, squeaks, creaks. For example, how terribly they save, just the control bar for the seats can be: While in the W221 there were buttons made of cold aluminum, for each function its own button - today you have 7 functions on 1 button, which is plastic and in piano lack. Shame.
Nothing like this has ever been in the S-class before and Ola's cost cutting will destroy the soul and image of this brand.

The W223 is realy a big disapointment...its like a Škoda of all S-Classes (but still with a price like all the good build S-Classes had, actually even higher), which should NEVER happen.
