I agree. They will follow the new GLC's design path for the door panels. I think the design in the prototype is misleading. It would be absurd for them to continue with the current design in the S-Class.
Ridiculous!Mercedes are absolutely stupid for including this BS shiny black piano trim on the FL S-class, it is the part of the interior that every person who sees it says it looks cheap. WTF are they thinking! They change 2700 effing parts and can't change the things that count the most, the interior parts that look cheap!!
They can change these parts to wood on a half priced CLA, but their flagship they leave the same, they out of their minds!

I am not remotely excited about this facelift. Why?
All theses changes ring the bell of a 15-20% price hike!
However I look forward to the flat crank engine being used, ideally as a non plugin hybrid, in the CLE.
So you think the GLS facelift will be as extensive or that the w224 one is extensive because a replacement won't be due until 4-5 years?Mercedes-Benz AG needs that absolute proverbial "slam dunk", that astounding tour de force of design and technology. Personally not at all expecting something of the like with the W/V223 MoPF. Facelifts seldon accomplish that. The W/V224 may however be another story altogether. AMG.EA tech looks extremely exciting and an immensely significant stepping stone into a sustainably good future.

I personally think the GLS facelift will also not be a slam dunk moment as the interior will probably still be virtually the same as the upcoming GLE FL and the exterior styling changes will be the same like the S-class with graphic changes with stars galore for the headlights and tail lamps.Quite honestly, I cannot really comment on the GLS one way or the other. Somehow, the GLS has never been a vehicle that has ever been on my personal radar. Not as someone interested in automobiles. Not as a potential customer (who I most certainly am not...never have been...never will be).
