All Mercedes has to do is get the next E right and I'm in. They can't miss based on their recent designs.

You test drove the S-coupe Marcus. Were you not tempted to get out of the 6?
How does the S coupe compare to your 6 series? Do you have time to write a brief review?Yes I did, but I wasn't moved enough to cough up the extra 60K or so in order to close that deal. My taste now runs towards the S63 Coupe now, which is out my reach. Wouldn't make sense for me right now.

Interesting comment because I don't have an overly emotional response to it at all. For me it's an academic approach .....the aesthetics of science and industry more than art and culture. This car is stunning. Mercedes nailed the 'sensual purity' idiom on this one.
Ha ha, not at all M., it's all opinion of course. You would know better than I Rob.
But from a lay mans point of view I see Audi's design as 'academic,' whereas I see Mercedes design as being more expressive with less concern for what is theoretically 'correct'.
Ha ha, not at all M., it's all opinion of course.
I think you're right about Mercedes being more "expressive" than Audi.
I guess my feeling about it is the Mercedes styling emphasizes the vehicle's technology and dynamism.
Hey Mohammed, don't underrate yourself ......you have challenged my opinions more than anyone else on this forum ......and that'sOk, yes I understand what you're saying. Agree that the style certainly emphasizes those two elements. But to me the 'lines' that are used to convey those elements are less constrained by design theory, than say compared to what you see on an Audi. Mercedes seems less concerned with ensuring a design element, such as the side character line, reaches a logical point of conclusion and more concerned with the 'emotion' evoked by the design element. The same can be said about details such as the grill, headlights and tail lights.
I don't know...I'm well out of my depth now.lol. I just see what I see.
